I recently enjoyed breakfast at Anthem Restaurant located in the Marriott Marquis in Washington, D.C., and overall, it was a good experience. The restaurant offers a spacious and elegant setting, making it perfect for starting the day on a positive note. The breakfast menu had a variety of options to choose from, catering to different tastes and dietary preferences. The food was served quickly, well-prepared and delicious, with fresh ingredients. The service was attentive and friendly, adding to decent meal it was a little less personal than what you’d expect to get in a Marriott out of the city. Read moreWent with some folks that were anxious to see if Anthem recreated the Hot Shoppes menu (formerly owned by Marriott from 1927 to 1999) any justice. I've never been to Hot Shoppes so I didn't have a reference point. I enjoyed the shrimp and grits. My guest said the Mighty Mo wasn't quite the same. My other guest really enjoyed the Waffle and Chicken sandwich. We ended our lunch with a Hot Shoppes staple, Orange Freeze, which was perfect fuel for our walk back to the office. I asked for the mayonnaise dressing for my Organic chicken salad to be placed on the side, but the waiter said he couldn’t accommodate that request. So I opted to order the Iron Bistro Steak. The mushroom sauce was extremely salty, so much so that I had to drink several glasses of water just to finish my meal. I couldn’t even enjoy the steak because of it.
Overall not a great experience. Don’t think I want to come back...
