COURTNEY was AMAZING, AMAZING, AMAZING! RYAN was UNPLEASANT AND UNPROFESSIONAL! GEORGE was AWESOME! This is going to be long like I promised so the important details are in All CAPS. This review is mainly for the management to make improvements because it starts from the top. I had to shorten the review in order to be able to post. COURTNEY made my experience at this restaurant worth returning by his EXCEPTIONAL SERVICE alone! He is PROFESSIONAL, KNOWLEDGEABLE, GOOD SPIRITED, very ATTENTIVE, and just an overall PLEASURE to be around! He brought everything out in a timely manner, and was mindful of everyone. I watched how he interacted with all of his customers and he kept a smile on their faces, while providing great service during a hectic night. Truly TOPNOTCH! He has a great sense of humor while getting the job done. HE LITERALLY IS THE ONLY REASON I AM GIVING 5 STARS! HE HAS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING FOR ME TO COMPLAIN ABOUT AND I WISH I DIDN'T HAVE TO COMPLAIN AT ALL! THANK YOU SO MUCH COURTNEY FOR TURNING THE NIGHT AROUND! If I return with my husband, we're requesting the best! We all came from Virginia expecting to have a great time. My family and I came for my birthday and the experience at the desk was AWFUL! Unfortunately, I picked the restaurant and this was my first time there. One of my sisters come often and states she normally doesn't have any issues but had an issue at the door as well, after she finally found a parking garage. It was HOWARD HOMECOMING WEEKEND and the place was overrun with people. VALET was FULL and the parking garages were too. We had reservations for a party of 6 and we were having issues parking. My two nieces arrived before me to check-in and state their interaction with RYAN was extremely POOR. They are 21 and 28 and look young. I don't know if he treated them poorly because they are younger or whatever the case but regardless we all felt like he displayed some type of bias against us. I didn't yell at him or argue with him before, after or during our actual short verbal interaction. Nothing I am aware of prompted his behavior towards me. I honestly forgot to write the name of the AMAZING LADY who had to assist me at the desk due to me requesting the manager because RYAN BLATANTLY IGNORED ME while I stood directly in front of him for waaaay too long waiting for assistance. He continuously turned around to speak to his coworkers and to look at the computer DIRECTLY between us. A man came and walked up next to me and he proceeded to move from in front of me to assist him and then went back to ignoring me. 10/19/2024 at approximately 9:15pm should be the START TIME TO WATCH the INTERACTION. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND MANAGEMENT REVIEW the CAMERA and utilize the FOOTAGE for their own references as well as a training tool for your employees on what NOT to do while you have a customer! He finally decides to greet me. I waited the entire time to make sure he had no excuse for his behavior and no way to justify it. I asked him if he was the manager and he proceeds to give me a list of things he is responsible for with an attitude that were supposed to justify why I should be speaking with him. After he finished speaking, I asked him the exact same question again. He turns around to get the lady behind him and he said she was the manager. RYAN was completely UNPROFESSIONAL, RUDE, and thankfully isn't one of my employees. The front desk sets the tone for any business. They are the first face we see, and when the interaction falls short it's usually hard to recover. As I told the lady, you all would be well within your rights to deny our table due to tardiness. My complaint to her was his behavior, not the reservations. I asked her if she could let me know if we could be seated or not and she just let me know that they were just waiting for the entire party. VERY SIMPLE, FRIENDLY, PROFESSIONAL INTERACTION WITH A RESOLUTION. GEORGE was AWESOME, he is also a JOY to have around. I appreciate you taking the time to listen to our concerns, and he also checked on all the other customers in...

Me and my homegirls WON'T be dining at the new stk in dc EVER again. Arrived to STK Dc for my best friend's birthday dinner. The server nervously comes to our table to give his speechĀ about the menu for the evening, we're patient with him, the restaurant just opened last month. We asked to start with some drinks and appetizers, b we are starving. "He says no, that'tĀ notĀ allowed all of our food must be ordered at the same time, so he can only put drinks in." Ok, that's fine I guess, its strange but whatever we follow the rules (it's always questionable when restaurants have this rule). We ask for multiple appetizers, two salads, pasta, ala carte sides, a bottle of champs and a $165 medium temp tomahawk sliced to share. The servers eyes light up and he verbatim says "If you get the tomahawk, it comes with your choice of two sides, plus choice of 6 shrimp or 2 lobster tails and all of stk's custom sauces." This is where we should've went with our instincts bc we were all confused as to why the tomahawk priced at only $165 included all of these items at no additional cost. We questioned him and he confirmed it was "included". Ok, so we went with it plus all the other items we ordered. The apps came out, they were mid but we were hungry and we're enjoying each others company. Finally after an additional 45 mins the tomahawk and all of the sides, shrimp and sauces arrive. This is where things took a very dark turn. As the server delivered the main entree he was escorted by the manager, Alex. She abrubtlyĀ demanded that we cut into the steak and approve that it was cooked to our liking. Maam we just got it, give us some damn space. From first look, we said this steak is not medium, its well done. Her response was 'do you want it or not?" Umm things were getting awkward. We're not ones to cause an issue with food, so we agreed to "try it" bc we didn't want to upset the chef. Alex swiftly walked away, wasn't friendly or warm and left us to eat our food. We all took a slice and added the sides to our plates, Upon first bite, we all realized the steak was well done, was tough, and crusted in peppercorn to cover up the taste. The sides were cold and tasted as if they'd been sitting out. The server comes over and we're like "hey this is not working for us, the steak is not edible", he looks nervous and goes to get the manager. The first manager Alex arrives back to our table, along with the asst. gm - Bryan and a very tall large man who I assumed to be another manager. The managers then began to accoust us without even allowing us to explain the issue, 'well you said the steak was fine, so we're not removing it from the bill, you ate the steak". But that's when we we're triggered. Instead of speaking to us in a caring, professional manner, we were accused of trying to not pay the bill. We were hungry, we just wanted the issues to be fixed! and the very tall man was not a manager, HE WAS SECURITY. Why is security hovering over our table bc we asked to speak to a manager. I sincerely asked 'wait why is security here?" and the AGM Bryan says "well i don't know what you all are capable of, you could get violent". We are a group of professionals with families and children with a lot to lose, what would make you feel that we had the ability to be violent to a stranger? Obviously bc we're black! On top of the racist behavior from the management of stk dc, the microagressions, the rudeness, the server lied about the price! He then admitted that the items "included" with the tomahawk actually had a very hefty upcharge. Every single item he said was included was not! $70 for 6 shrimp?! Wow! Like why did you deceive us knowing we would see the final bill. The server then tells us "well during training we were told that people who come here have money and they won't notice the additional prices". Wow stk you're training your...

I visited STK Steakhouse on May 31, 2025 to celebrate my wife’s birthday, and it was a truly awful experience from start to finish. The service was extremely slow — we waited over 20 minutes just to get 2 cocktails. Our starters came out pretty quick which seems to be the only positive thing about the night. After placing our entrĆ©e order it took more than 30 minutes for our food to arrive. Besides the long wait time, everything seemed fine until I cut into my steak. I ordered my steak medium, but it came out cold and clearly medium rare. I’m not one to send food back so as long as the food is not unbearable, I’ll keep it. At this point I’m still giving the restaurant the benefit of the doubt.. I live in Baltimore so my wife and I leave the restaurant and head back home.. during the drive home I started feeling ill. I had a brief conversation with her to see how she was feeling and she stated she was fine. I don’t want to get too graphic, but I ended up getting food poisoning later that night. (You can google symptoms of food poisoning and I had all of them)

Sunday June 1, 2025 , I was stuck in bed all day. My wife called corporate the next morning with intentions to inform them about our experience and the food safety concerns. The corporate office looped her in with a manager at the restaurant. As my wife is explaining the situation, my wife gave the manager the check number so they can review what we purchased. The manager made a comment stating ā€œ you and your husband got the same cut steak prepared the same way?.. you aren’t sickā€. In a condescending tone.. That pissed me off because that made my wife feel like we was trying to get something for free or lie about me being sick. That comment from the manager single handily prompted this review. Instead of taking her concern seriously, they brushed her off and made her feel like her complaint was invalid

Sunday June 1, corporate told my wife they would speak to the management team in-house to come up with a resolution and reach back out to her on Monday June 2. Obviously no one reached out to her leading up to this review.. You can see from my profile that I NEVER write google reviews good or bad. I don’t care enough to write one. If I receive bad service, I chalk it up as a lost and keep it moving, but in this situation, especially the price that I paid which was $329 not including tip (which I added) getting sick, and lack of concern and empathy from the restaurant is unacceptable. I want potential customers to really take in consideration if they truly want to dine here after hearing my experience

The lack of accountability and care was just as disappointing as the meal itself. Between the poor service, undercooked food, and complete disregard for a legitimate food safety concern, this place is a total letdown. We won’t be returning, and I would strongly recommend others think twice before...

Disclaimer: this review is 11months old, I'm noticing that it never posted after making the attempt multiple times which is odd. I'm starting to wonder if it's not posting because of the 2 star rating🧐Things may have changed since my experience. I am really shocked at the amount of reviews and high ratings this restaurant has! It’s overrated for sure. A group of friends and I went for lunch on a Monday. The restaurant had a total of 5 occupied tables and our food took foreverrrrr! There was a group occupying the party room but they had their food upon us being seated. Originally, we weren’t too unhappy with the wait because if the food is fresh AND good then it’s worth the wait (to an extent). We never complained about the excessive wait! Our food finally came out and everything looked alright but as we started eating, the food was very…subpar! For this place to present itself as a fine dining steakhouse it was no better than the quality of Texas Roadhouse. In fact, I would’ve much rather dined there and paid a fraction of the price for better tasting food. The prices did not match up with the food OR service. If I’m paying $100+ for a steak, I expect the service to be magnificent. The waiter and staff were cool but it just didn’t feel like they were properly trained for a ā€œfine diningā€ restaurant. I’ve been to plenty and it was just different. For example, our table of five was full of wine glasses that remained in the way until we moved them to place them behind us on the ledge. Typically after placing drink orders, if no one is ordering wine they remove the wine glasses. Sounds very small and such a petty complaint but I mean I have high expectations for a ā€œhigh endā€ steakhouse. I think folks get caught in the theatrics of the melting of the butter with the torch, something I can do at home with my Amazon bought butane torch lighter. The inside is decorated very nicely but again, I think customers get so caught up in that and miss out on the main reason we patronize restaurants….because of the food! The salad and Parmesan fries were great! The 10 oz filet and bone in ribeye was cool but we could’ve either got the burger and been more satisfied OR went down the street to Fogo de chao where the steak is to rave about. In conclusion, the restaurant isn’t disgusting; I simply had higher expectations with the āļøāļøāļøāļøāļø ratings. I don’t mind paying $70-$100+ for steak and $19 per side but the service and quality has to match the value. Personally, I will not return but they seem to have a decent happy hour if you wanted to check that out. The drinks were good!
