I've been a member of Mount Vernon Place United Methodist Church for over 10 years and have watched it grow over the years to be a vibrant, inclusive congregation with something for everyone. What I love most about MVPUMC is that everyone can be real right away. It's a friendly and authentic church that cares about serving those in our community and has done a lot to partner with our unhoused neighbors.
Pastor Donna's sermons are down to earth and compelling. People are there for you in your hardest times and share your joys with you. After years of being open with the church battling infertility and our members sharing in my grief, our church now enjoys watching our son dance to the beautiful organ music and our choir. There is a great nursery and many young families here.
I have also participated in a small group almost from the beginning and have felt those groups be my anchor for each week.
I grew up Catholic (many of us at MVPUMC did!) and had no idea that I could feel so much more spiritual as a Methodist and with this church.
