I was poisoned here. I have celiac disease. I notified my server, and spoke with the manager about my need to follow a gluten free diet. Applebee's corporate has a gluten free menu, and allergen list. I reviewed it with the manager, and she assured me that they could make me a meal that would not make me sick. Only the ingredients that I could have would be in the meal that we talked about. I recieved my meal with a few hidden bits of fried tortilla, and was not aware until I had eaten about a third of the meal. I immediately let the server know that I had found the contaminant. Evidently, there was a staff switch and the manager from the start of our meal was gone. The server told the new manager on site, who did not listen to my concerns. I told the new manager that I had found the contaminant, and he responded with, "Oh, this actually comes with fried tortilla strips. Did you ask to have them left off?" I assured him that I ordered everything as I should have. More than once, the manager interrupted me, and did not listen to what I had to say. When I started to explain my disease and what would happen, he cut me off, and asked if he needed to call an ambulance. He had no interest in learning about the situation, or listening to what I had to say. He should have listened, to correct any future errors, and keep others from getting poisoned. We were charged for the meal that has made me sick for the past 3 days. My partner paid the check, and we walked out. The manager ran after us in the parking lot and tried to give me a gift certificate for my next trip to the restaurant. I refused it. I will not be going back...
Read moreEarlier this week, my friend and I went in for dinner. We both had burgers. I had the Neighborhood Burger. I asked to add bacon. The server came back with my burger with fries and a bread stick, which she put in front of my friend. I got hers. We both looked at each other and shook our heads. The server came back and we asked what the bread stick was for. She thought I said add a "bread stick" instead of "bacon". I gave my friend her burger and server took mine, returning it to me with bacon. Skip to tonight. I went with my parents. I wanted to do the same burger again. So I did. Exactly as I ordered last time. It came out with 2 pieces of bacon on the side. And there was no garlic mayo on it...which is why I liked it in the first place. I asked the server about the bacon. She told me the only way to ring it up was to put in a side of bacon. I then asked her if she was sure she put in a Neighborhood Burger because what I had was basically a double cheeseburger. I let it go and ate it. When the bill was given to my dad, I saw the manager nearby and called him over. I told him the whole story. I didn't so much mind that the bacon came on the side but it didn't have the garlic mayo. He said none? I shook my head. Last time, yes it did. He apologized, took it off the bill, and said he would have a talk to the kitchen staff. This Applebee's used to be a really good one and I enjoyed going. Now, not so much. Just...
Read moreI don’t usually leave reviews, but when I do I try to make sure that they’re positive reviews. But in this case I unfortunately can’t because of the not so great service. I’ll make a bullet point list of the experience to make it easy to read and so I don’t ramble. :) Our waitress wasn’t attentive and wouldn’t check up on us or get a refills. She was very bubbly and kind though! We ordered the food, I got a well done, no pink cheeseburger. I checked my burger after eating half of my fries to find that it was very pink. The waitress pulled a disappearing act upon us when we needed her. I ended up getting tired of waiting and ate the more well cooked half When she finally came back I had finished the one half and didnt want to send the burger back half gone. So I tried eating the other half. It was more pink and very greasy, like…pooling and dripping greasy. I was saddened and I couldnt finish it.
I will say it was only my food that was wrong. So I will be able to strongly say that you can get a ribeye and a chicken wrap just fine! Or a pink...
