Black Rock Coffee Bar — Restaurant in Washington

UPDATE: 5/10/2019 When I wrote my initial review I had visited this establishment for the first time. I ordered a Teal Fuel and their Freebird Turkey Sandwhich. My order came to about $12. Reasonable right? For a upscale coffee shop, sure.

Take us to three weeks later and I order the same thing, but make my Teal Fuel Extra Large which is $2 more. My bill came to $16.72.

Here's the breakdown:

$1.00 for tip on the drink $7.30 for the Teal Fuel ($6.75 plus tax) $8.42 Sandwich

Now before you get your panties in a bunch over some idiot complaining about price, let me clarify a few things.

I was NEVER provided, offered nor did I see a way to print a receipt. The cold case has NO signage about price. Sure I could of asked, however, I had purchased this same sandwhich three weeks ago and it cost me around $5. When I expressed displeasure about the price the clerk simply shrugged her shoulder and said the sandwhich was about $7. She DIDNT EVEN KNOW THE DANG PRICE AND SHE JUST RANG IT UP!

So, yeah, I'm an idiot for writing this update and complaining about price. Black Rock sucks for not posting prices for customers to be able to make INFORMED choices. And for in general, not caring.

Great coffee. Great sandwiches. Womens bathroom in need of attention. Water is scalding hot no matter which way you turn the faucet. Out of seat liners and no toilet paper in dispenser....

After school I walked to black rock and of course wanting to order my regular a mango smoothie and a poppy seed muffin like always I walk in and everything goes well I order I pay then this tall blonde lady is making this drink and I watch her pour the most biggest amount of milk in this drink and all that's going through my mind is " what drink is that?" So I wait for my drink and she turns to me asking me if i would like whip on my drink I politely said no and she put a lid on my drink and handed it to me and of course not looking at it till I walk out of the store I start walking and I look at it and it's literally not even it's normal color it's supposed to be (orange) it's tan and with a lot of white so I mix it thinking it would go away it did I took a sip of it and all I could taste was milk and now I'm having a allergic reaction a when I never do when I get my favorite drink normally perfectly fine but just this whole...

The employees have a sliding scale related to the kindness and friendliness they offer customers when they enter and order, which unfortunately I slid off the rails and go ignored. I would probably buy a cup of coffee a day, with interest in having business meetings here - making my visits worth $3-6k annually to the owner in sales. Another note, is the only time I ordered a specialty drink here it wasn't prepared in a way that tasted good. The ice melted and the consistency of the ingredients mixed made for undesirable sips. The music is too loud at times for even working by myself. One of the toilets leaks out of the tank when you flush it. The cleaning solutions they use are the same as I have in bar & venue settings, so it smells like an alcohol bar and not a coffee shop / cafe to me.

Positives, worn in seats and one has an outlet nearby. The fireplace exists next...
