I went there for an event with my organization a few weeks ago. We had a buffet set up and people dancing on the second floor. I went to the bar and asked for water. I was asked by the bartender if I was ordering food and I responded no. He then asked me again and I responded that I was with the group having the event. He gave me a glass of water and I returned to my friends.

A few minutes later, he approaches my friends and asks them if I am with them. They reply yes and he asks them again. Other people at the event respond that I am with the group. I'm not sure why the bartender singled me out among the entire party, but the encounter left me feeling uncomfortable as the only person of color in my party.

The food was okay, but I would recommend that the restaurant work on their personnel and provide more interpersonal communication/diversity training. I've never experienced such behavior from restaurant staff in the...

Liked it so much, we came back 3 years later. We stopped for lunch 3 years ago while touring GW Univ. This week, we were in town for a funeral and decided we'd go into the city for dinner specifically because we liked it so much. It didn't let us down. Granted, it was early in the evening, 5ish, but we sat right down, ordered and our food was out in minutes. Wife and kid always get the Pad See Ew and they loved it. I'm the kind that chooses something different, this time I got the Pineapple Fried Rice with pork and it was delicious. So much food, couldn't fit in dessert. Helped a lot for our walk around the mall afterwards. We'll always go back if we ever get...

Ordered an entree for pickup around 4:47PM. I was told it would be ready in 10 mins so i gave them 15 before i got there. I paid and even tipped. When i got there i waited until 5:45pm to receive my food. The point of me ordering over the phone was so my food would be ready when i got there. Not wait for over half an hour. When i brought it up i just kept getting “sorry. It’ll be out soon”. There was only 2 tables sat at this time. Like they didn’t even put my order in until i got there. No offer to refund. (even partially) or make it right. I ended up being late to my event after and the food doesn’t taste like it should. No care put into the dish at all…....

Perfectly on the way from the GWU campus to Georgetown, Charm Thai has every reason to be a GWU student favorite. Fair prices, GWorld acceptance, tasty fried rice, and personable service mark the charming spot as the ideal dinner location. My personal go-to is the Siam Fried Rice with chicken, though I’ve recently also become a big fan of the Pad See Ew. Pictured is the Chicken Satay, which I tried in an attempt to push myself out of my usual fried rice/pad see ew comfort zone. I recommend the tables near the entrance, next to the big windows that look into the street, for optimized lighting and general good vibes.

Their traditional noodle dishes aren’t bad. However, the Crispy Basil Duck is horrible. I’ve had many different versions of it and this was by far the worst. The best versions are sliced or pulled so that there is an even proportion of fat to meat, and pan fried with aromatics. Their version was a mess of uneven chunks that were cheaply breaded and deep fried into a disgusting clump. The sauce they served on the side was a lazy goo of sugar, basil, and red bell peppers. Whoever made this either winged it or didn’t care to look up the recipe online. We ended up throwing it away. I’ll not be reordering from them.

Order a couple of dishes to share. Pad Thai with beef and shrimp pad see ew. Well the picture will show you that they gave us beef for both dishes. The pad Thai was one of the worst dishes I have ever had. Lacked flavor, and I’ve had more enjoyment from a cup of noodles. I’d avoid this at all costs. Even though they got the dish wrong, the pad see ew was actually decent. Overall, I’d avoid this place if you’ve ever had Thai food before.
