I really don’t get all the positive reviews Chez Lily has.. every experience I’ve had here has been just okay. I come here as a backup to the other great cafes in the area, and the staff is always cold and doesn’t make eye contact with you. In addition to being uninviting, the last straw was my recent visit when I was overcharged (for no reason) for a flatbread. I looked at my receipt and saw that I was charged for cauliflower crust, olives, and cilantro, none of which I asked for. It’s always nice to enter an establishment and be greeted by your first name and with a genuine smile. That’s how it is at Chez Lily when Kai and Ayanna are working in the mornings. They’re professional, friendly and are great at making the food taste delicious. Along with a hot cup of Vigilante coffee, my go to food item is the toasted everything bagel with eggs, avocado and topped with spinach. It’s delicious and nutrient dense. *Staff almost ALWAYS seems to be in a bad mood. I showed up here 15 minutes to closing time to get a hot coffee. The server had such a bad attitude and clearly didn't feel like working. After choosing THREE things she said they wouldn't be able to provide any of them. I left. Such a waste of time. *Way too expensive. They charge you for a splash of almond milk.
