Leftover lunch fair is giving it credit. I ordered the 2 slice special. All the pizza in the display appeared to look appeasing and delicious.. bright colors lots of topping etc. I picked a BBQ slice and plain cheese . $14.00 is not bad for downtown DC . However the bag of lays potato chips and the bottle of sprite was the best part of this meal. The pizza was flash heated in the stone oven just long enough to make it look heated. The very first bite was stone cold the only heat the BBQ slice was from the hot sauce sprayed onto the slice. Every bite was a struggle, tough to tear off and bite and very very dry , every drop of spit in mouth was absorbed instantly requiring me to take a sip of the soda to make it easier to consume. The end crust was so stiff I could have used it for a support beam on a house. And now onto the Cheese slice, it was actually worse, the cheese topping was devoid of an liquid that if it rained I could have used it for an umbrella, and the tomato sauce was basically edible red colored wall spackle. And just like the BBQ, the crust was identical but by this time the sprite was completely consumed . There was no flavor at all, no salt no pepper no chill flakes NOTHING , just a toddler's construction paper facsimile of a slice...

My family and I tried this place for lunch after dropping a friend off at the Union Station. We ordered the Paneer Tikka Pizza, which was absolutely delicious. All pizza slices are 18-inch and a whole pizza order comes with 8 slices. The order took about 20 mins to make, despite the heavy order flow, and the service from the staff was great. The pizza was crisp, full of different toppings, and topped with chutneys and different sauces. I can eat a whole pizza, from chains like Dominos, myself, but after 3 slices of the 18 inch Paneer Tikka Pizza, I was full.
The pricing is not cheap here but it is reasonable considering the large 18-inch size of the pizzas, 8 slice quantiity, and the fact it is DC.
The only points to consider are that the restaurant doesn't have much indoor seating (3 tables), but there is ample outdoor seating, and that the menu posted on google maps is outdated (ex. there is no Mediterranean Pizza there anymore).
Overall after years of dealing with mediocre "NOVA Pizza chains," I am glad I found this spot. This place is my new "go to pizza spot"...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOverview: Wiseguy Pizza is my favorite new york style pizza in DC. Great quality and great selection.
Pizza: Hands down best NYC-style pizza in DC. The crust is delicious and crispy. They are generous with their toppings. They do the basics extremely well, but also have a great selection of other pizzas. Definitely love their buffalo chicken pizza. The pizza doesn't get too soggy and fall apart, and overall quality is consistently delicious.
Location: not a lot of table space inside, but plenty outside. Either way you better get there early or your going to have a harder time unless you do take out.
Line: as above for seating, you better get their early because sometimes that line will go out the door and around the corner. Pizza's good but not enough for that wait.
Price vs serving: $$. It can be pricey for pizza, but the serving size is really big. Two slices are more than enough to make me full. For whole pizzas, they're big, but you're paying for it at $25.99 a pizza.
Delivery: nope. Pickup or use a service.
I love Wiseguy and I give it 5 stars for overall experience. I have my gripes, but they're not enough to...
