Compass Coffee — Restaurant in Washington

This shop or barista needs some attention or training. While I ordered an espresso, unfortunately, somehow I received a Ristretto portion of coffee. Given the lower temperature of the coffee, I assumed this is because of the not-ready (not properly steamed) machine and asked to change it. However, your barista offered me an option to pour more water (ridiculous); otherwise, I need to wait five minutes for changing the grinding level… (which also does not make sense because the dial-in can be easily made). Well, I had enjoyed and appreciated your coffee and services since it is near by my office. Today, it is just terrible service and somewhat I felt that your barista treated me as an annoying person who does not know the difference between americano...

I work in this building and have access to lots of great free coffee but opt to go down for the amazing baristas. HUGE shoutout to Joey and Andrea for always taking care of me. I 1000% do not come here for the coffee, I come in for the amazing people.

It saddens me that people who are the highlights of most of my in office days are fighting for fair wages, the right to receive tips and proper management.

Nice place with plenty of room and comfortable seating. The staff is very friendly and super quick to provide service. Prices are comparable to Starbucks. For example, the Starbuck 20oz Venti Blonde is $3.03, the Compass 16oz Horizon Large is $2.39. Taste wise, I would choose Starbucks but that could be because of my own taste. Starbucks coffee tastes like coffee and nothing else, the Compass Horizon coffee tastes like it has some kind of additive that makes it “fruity”, which could be ok if that is what you seek. In any case, this is one place I recommend trying, at least to know if you like...
