This place was really cool! I'm a barista from out of town and i'd totally reccomend this place to anyone visiting DC. This location is located right outside one of the main metro stops and I'm so glad it was because I was struggling to find cool coffee shops online.
It's really difficult for a shop to nail all the aspects of 3rd wave coffee while also being inclusive and meeting everyones needs and I'd this shops did a great job.
I ordered a Mocha and I have to say its one of the best ive had their chocolate syrup complements their coffee really well and comes together with an earthy sweetness. Also the barista left a beautiful tulip and the drink had a wonderful creamy (whole)milk foam. My 12 oz(medium) Mocha was gone in about 3 blocks.
From the small amount of time I was in there the baristas were nice, quick, and calm under pressure. I walked in right behind a group of business people and I barely waited for my drink! Then the small goodbye once everyone was leaving was a heavily appreciated gesture.
The inside of the shop and its design is cohesive and nails the aesthetic there is plenty of room to sit and relax.
This shop also sells brewing equipment like chemexs, aeropresses, and french presses. They also of course sell their coffee and merch in these really cool tins with both blends as well as single origin coffees.
If I lived here I'd totally be a regular you guys...
Read moreHow far this chain has fallen. Got an iced coffee, scratch that a nitro cold brew since they don't do iced coffee anymore, and HALF the cup was milk. Complained and they begrudgingly added extra coffee to my cup, no apologies or acknowledgement of how weak the drink was. They used to make an excellent chai, but now it's watered down sweet nonsense. Used to love this place, they have over expanded and lost any of the qualities that made them an excellent local alternative to Starbucks. Shame to watch it go downhill. Obviously I'm not the only person to think that based on the lack of customers in a location that used to be busy at all times on weekends.
I'm not a huge coffee drinker, but I really enjoy their vanilla cold brew. This location can get pretty loud at times, but it's a good spot to check out if you find yourself in Chinatown with an...
Read moreI ordered a matcha latte through the app and waited for over twenty minutes without receiving my drink. When I approached the counter to inquire, I was told there was a malfunction with the steam machine and that they couldn’t prepare my order. What surprised me most was that no one had informed me of the issue or even offered an apology.
I requested a refund since I paid for something I never received. Again, there was no communication, I waited a long time, and no one notified me that the refund had been processed until I asked a second time.
Overall, I’m extremely disappointed with the service. The staff showed a lack of professionalism and consideration for the customer experience. Despite being a loyal customer who spends a significant amount of money at this café each month, I was treated poorly. Sadly, I can no longer recommend this location due to the consistently...
