Editing my troll review now that open and have tried. Itâs fine. Crullers are good but canât run a business on crullers in DuPont. Itâs classic of this iteration of USHG: three managers sitting at the bar on their laptops, at least two of them probably big wigs from New York, abruptly turning their disapproving heads when someone drops an empty tray on accident but then back to the laptop. Meanwhile, you order four pastries and their fancy printer system enumerates each of them on your receipt which is stapled to your bag, and you open your bag to only find three of them. Which is to say: itâd be less pretentious to be sitting there on your laptops if youâd developed a system already to be confident that everyone was putting everything in the bag. Or maybe just one of the three could have been on expo at the time. The chicken has never been that good but itâs just as good here as in NY. Itâs got a poor flow considering the majority of clientele will want to grab and go, dining room too big, nobody will be drinking alcohol here. But itâll do fine on Sundays after the market. A big brilliant lease and an underwhelming build out to do well one day a week, the bleeding edge of the restaurant game has come to...
Read moreFood is soooo bad here đ. Ordered the kale Caesar and had to get Milanese chicken because otherwise it comes with pulled chickenâŚ.weird. The salad comes dry with a tiny thing of dressing on the sideâŚnot enough for kale since it is so dry and tough. The salad had celery and dried chickpeasâŚneither of which you expect to come in a Caesar salad. The dressing was horribleâŚnot a typical creamy Caesar at all and the chicken was dry unseasoned and rubbery. I legit tried one bite of salad and then gave it to my friend because I could not eat it. She also didnât like it. Wasted almost $20 on it, so it being a cafe is not an excuse when it costs as much as salads at sit down restaurants. I then ordered the tuna melt because I was hungry and had not eaten all day. It was edible but not good by any means. Weird cheese for a tuna melt and kept getting a taste of something weirdâŚtasted like licorice. I tried it one more time because I needed something quick to eat before a workout classâŚinstant regret and didnât finish it.
I may get a coffee here but absolutely wouldnât get food here again. Still sad I wasted money on something I...
Read moreIt feels like a coffee shop designed by a NPC. It's sterile, loud music, and is the least Dupont-y place I've been too. At least they had clean bathrooms.
It was such an odd experience being there. I came in a little past 1, to grab lunch, read and do some work on my laptop.
The place was filled with people working on their laptops, but no one seemed to be eating or drinking. The tea I ordered was fine, but I can get a much better tea for less money across the street at Teaism. My sandwich was good, but after a few bites I put it down to read somemore a worked just stood across the table for me and asked if I needed a box. Not even five min later another worker (I assume because he wasn't in a uniform or had any identifying item) asked if I was done and needed help clearing my table. It felt like I wasn't actually allowed to...
