WARNING: NO WIFI, ONE OUTLET Met a friend here to keep each other company while we teleworked, except that we had to use our own hotspot because there is no wifi. They said they can’t have WiFi because they are “too small” of a business, but their menu is very cheap. While low prices are a nice perk, I think they’d be able to afford WiFi if they raised their prices just a little bit. No one realizes that there’s no WiFi until after paying for a coffee; we watched multiple other people pay, set up their computer, and then ask for the nonexistent WiFi password. There is a single outlet in the entire place, luckily there was one open plug for me to charge my laptop. I cut my visit short because my hotspot started struggling. The smoothie I ordered was very good, the cookie I got was dry. I really want to support a small business while I’m working in this neighborhood, but I’ll have to...

Review: The Collective Coffee (Dupont Plaza, DC) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Stumbled upon The Collective Coffee near Dupont Plaza and had an absolutely lovely experience. We ordered a cappuccino and a latte — both were exceptional. The cappuccino was especially memorable: incredibly well-balanced, rich but not overpowering, with an aromatic profile that lingered pleasantly. The latte was smooth and full-bodied, with just the right amount of creaminess.

We sat outside and couldn’t have picked a better time — a crisp, early spring afternoon with golden sunlight and just a hint of chill in the air. It felt like we’d been transported to a cozy European café — the kind of moment that makes you slow down and really savor your coffee.

Highly recommend for both the quality of the drinks and the charm of the outdoor setting. A true gem...

We were excited to support a local, worker-owned business. The minor redesign of the interior greatly brightens the space and makes the interior much more welcoming!

Unfortunately, the outdated ordering process in use is inefficient. Our 2 drink order was repeated multiple times but nothing was written down, even our names, so it was inevitably delivered incorrectly.

The apple turnover was mass-produced, and the coffee was quite burnt and bitter. I don’t think the beans are regularly refreshed based on previous experience.

All this can be solved though. I think an in-house pastry chef and some barista trainings would help a lot with the quality. A simple ticketing system would treating improve the ordering process as well.

We’ll give it another try, but I hope they work through some of...

A cute, employee-owned cafe with an awesome team and wide selection of pastries / espresso drinks. The inside of the cafe is just as energetic and bustling as the rest of the Dupont Circle neighborhood, so it can sometimes be a bit tough to find a seat, but it's a great place to hang out if you manage to snag a spot. They don't have Wifi, but they do have a few outlets scattered about. Everything is super affordably priced, especially for DC, but they were not my favorite. The latte wasn't nearly as creamy or smooth as I would prefer, although the espresso was quite strong -- I was absolutely buzzing at the end. The pastries are a bit too dry and overly sweet (for the sweet ones) / salty (for the savory ones), but I appreciated that the team warmed everything up.

A coffee shop for the Dupont Circle community, this employee-owned cafe is very close to the Dupont Circle Metro Station. Walk inside and you'll find eager staff that craft coffee drinks with speed. With a full coffee menu, I ordered a latte. Candidly, it wasn't as creamy or smooth as I prefer, but a little simple syrup from the condiment area helped make it more refreshing. They sell a variety of pastries. The chocolate glazed donut was small and a little dry, but not horrible. There are areas to sit and enjoy a coffee. A few seats have outlets nearby. If you need to use the restroom, ask for the key. After unlocking two doors, you'll find the door to the small, unisex bathroom.

Passed through to grab something for breakfast and at first we were impressed with the variety of pastries. Then it was our turn to order, which went well but the lady shouted out the order to the other workers. Ok, maybe they have a great memory. Nope the ppl making the orders were asking everyone standing waiting what their order was and were clearly overwhelmed. Took us 25 minutes to get our order. They kept asking what we ordered which was annoying and ppl who ordered long after us were getting their orders and leaving. It’s also a tiny space that has a few tables and not much waiting room… which is clearly needed
