We ordered takeout via Uber Eats. Our experience of delivery from all companies and restaurants have had ups and downs. This was an amazing experience!
Several reviews stated they felt that portions were getting smaller with time. That's not our driving force behind our selections, but man were we surprised! Our sub $40 order yielded us 7.4lbs. Those are Chipotle numbers! And the quality was way better than expected.
The chicken had mixed reviews. Some thought that the chicken was dry which meant it was on the rotisserie for too long. I feel bad for those that didn't get the chicken we received. It was amazingly juicy and possibly a hint of huaycatay. So damn good.
The plantains were perfectly carmelized and texture was perfectly on the middle. Not too soft thankfully. I still have my teeth. The black beans were amazing with the onion salad and a must have combo. Yuca and fries with the medium sauce, I had to get in my comfy pants! I couldn't stop eating them.
And then there was the Tres Leches. If you don't do this you've don't it all wrong. World class texture even for delivered food in with hot packages! How?
So, yes we will be eating leftovers all weekend. There was just way too much food! Well except dessert. We unabashedly crushed all the cake. Don't care. Loved it. We will definitely be ordering regularly.
Thank you District Rico for an amazing experience on a much needed date...
Read moreThis place I've been wanting to try for some time . The aroma from the deliveries was unbearable just made me hungry and wanting to try some. So finally it happened , my son and I was trying to find some place to get something to eat from so we stopped here and as usual couldn't think of what to get hmm. I did what I always do stick to basic when I can't commit to anything else. Dark meat with double rice . The smell was oh my goodness but my reality was it wasn't that thang you say was bomb as ** . It wasn't bad wasn't all that good either. There was no smacking of the lips no oh my licking my fingers and humming. It was ok. That aroma was telling something totally different that this right here is money. I have to admit that I did have to take it home and I didn't even look or taste it when it was brought to the car. The ride home was around 15 minutes or so . Do I need to try it again of course again of course . The smell the look was on point it just didn't get my taste buds going crazy with delight. Untilnthe next time...

My only real gripe? They dared to toss a bag of whole baby carrots into the Brussels sprouts. Come on—chop those things up! 🥳
That aside, the Brussels sprouts themselves had great flavor. The balsamic glaze really popped, adding a tangy sweetness that paired well with the earthy sprouts. I do wish they had been roasted a bit longer, though—they were still a little too firm for my taste.
The plantains, on the other hand, stole the show. Beautifully charred and caramelized on the outside, while staying soft, warm, and perfectly sweet on the inside.
And then there’s the chicken—the heart of the meal. The Peruvian seasoning came through nicely, especially on the breast, which stayed tender (though it felt like it was about three minutes shy of tipping into dryness). The thigh and leg, however, were spot on: juicy, flavorful, and cooked just right.
Overall, definitely worth a stop if you’re craving those bold, comforting...
