Before I start the review, let me disclose a few facts: I have been a patient at this location for 9 months I came in suffering from a very bad neck pain When I came for my diagnosis, I was in a lot of pain and did paper work / signed documents for more than 10 pages.
When I came in today, they asked me to pay a late cancellation fee. I was not aware that they had a late cancellation fee and when I called last Friday to move my appoint (not cancel) they told me I was already booked for the following week and was set. No one on the phone mentioned to me that I will be charged $35 for the cancelled appointment. If they had told me that, I would have moved around my plans to make the appointment.
When I told them that I wasn't aware of the policy, the pulled out the waiver from 9 months ago, where I signed amongst a sea of paper one page with a line that said they charged cancellation fee. When I mentioned that it wasn't told to me when I called, I was told it was all hearsay, in addition to being belittled by saying "I always read what I sign" and "We don't know if you would have chosen to come--you say that now" and "all doctor's offices have a cancellation fee". To say the least, the person was rude and unempathetic. They were inflexible and unapologetic and clearly don't care about customer service. Clearly, they wanted to charge the fee even if it meant losing a valuable customer.
Needless to say, I asked them to cancel all my future appointments and that I will be leaving the practice considering how I was treated and the inflexibility of the practice. In 9 months, I had 0 no-shows and 2 "late" cancellations, neither of which I was informed were late.
What amazes me is that if I was the owner of the business, I would have shown flexibility and empathy given a one-time $35 is not worth losing a customer who at least would bring in $150 per visit--I probably had more than 30 sessions in the last 9 months, equally at least $4500. It seems crazy to me that the staff would make a decision that would cost the business a lot of money, in addition to providing bad customer service.
I liked my therapist, so it is a shame that their professionalism is forcing me to go...
Read morePreviously, I saw Sarah Weimer at H Street, now I've seen their team at Mass Ave and nothing has changed with the new location - it's just incredibly convenient to Union Station so a trek across town is not necessary for me. Sarah is now over here so it was nice to see a familiar face (she got me through the worst pain in my life my after a scooter accident and knee surgery 7 years ago). Victoria helped me with my back this time after it had gotten so bad I couldn't sleep in bed any longer and just standing up was painful. She was able to narrow down what was causing my pain and worked me through all the stretches and strengthening I needed to get back on track. After a few months of twice a week and eventually once a week guidance I can say I am pain free. Everyone in this office is extremely kind, caring and flexible to meet your needs. I can't recommend them enough and stick to my point from before - it's not your typical get em in, get em out PT factory. They really care. Thank you Victoria for everything. I feel so much better and it's much thanks to you and the...
Read moreThe first time I visited the Washington Wellness Physical Therapy and SportsCare location on Mass Avenue NW, I was very emotional. The atmosphere made me feel very hopeful. Emily Beeber is awesome. Ive been having back problems for the last 2 years. Within the last year it seemed to have gotten worst. I've been to a chiropractor and orthopedic with no relief. My coworker referred me to Emily and that was the best referral I have ever received. Emily is very knowledgeable of my condition. She has a gentle but firm touch. She has magical hands. The exercises she has me to do really get to the core of the pain. Emily taught me just to concentrate on my breathing for a minute several times a day is very helpful to my progress. I never knew that. I've only had 3 visits with Emily and each visit was very proactive. I felt like a rock star once I left. I know I have a long way to go, but I feel so comfortable that Washington Wellness Physical Therapy and SportsCare along with Emily will help me get back to living a pain free life. I am forever...
