My newest fast-casual Mexican obsession! I first discovered District Taco a few months ago while scrolling around on Uber Eats and craving a quick but convenient bite of Mexican food. I stumbled upon District Taco and haven't looked back since, both ordering take-out and visiting in-person a pretty embarrassing number of times over the course of the last couple of months. I see them as basically a higher-quality, local version of Chipotle; it's definitely a touch pricier, but they have the quality of service and food to more than make up for the difference. I usually opt for the ensalada with either itza (made with Beyond meat) or grilled fish -- the fish is a super refreshing pescatarian addition to the menu beyond most other fast-casual Mexican spots. With the impeccable spice blend, lovely charred crust, and super tender interior, the fish is absolutely worthy of being a go-to protein, despite the added cost. They do also include guac as a protein choice, which, although I love guac, it's not a protein and should not be categorized as such. I usually get basically all of the non-dairy toppings possible (note: the potatoes are not gluten-free) and replace their dressing with a few dollops of their flavor-packed and absolutely outstanding salsa. Ah...I'm getting hungry just thinking about it -- the ensalada hits the spot every time, and I really appreciate the degree of customization and wide breadth of toppings you can add compared to other fast-casual Mexican spots.

The service is also efficient and friendly enough, providing an all-around delightful, quick dining experience. I will note, though, if you're planning to get take-out, I would recommend quickly sense-checking your order before heading out. I've occasionally been given the wrong order, which is completely understandable considering how busy this spot can get, but that does have the potential to ruin dinner plans if you're not staying near the restaurant, especially if you have dietary...

Be in south Austin, 2am, a little buzzed after a night out downtown. Find a small taco truck in a seedy parking lot. Order the steak tacos and tell the guy to serve them as he'd serve to himself. Come out in tortillas wrapped with marinated grilled chopped steak, onions and cilantro, nothing else. Green sauce on the side. They are the best tacos you've ever had, the seasoning and marinade and salsa are out of this world. You fear as you go back north, you'll never find tacos like this again. Sure enough, you go back north and tacos disappoint. Even as your city gentrifies and a crop of fancy taquerias pop up, you still can't find the same flavors.

Until District Taco opens their doors, and like a page out of your food dreams, serves these very "Mexican style" tacos. All the flavors that you never thought possible to experience again return, at an inexpensive fast casual joint, now available every day. That authentic flavor that no one else in DC can get right for some reason, they have it!

Here's how to win at DT: three steak tacos, Mexican style. Squeeze a little lime in them, then mix a little green salsa with the super hot red salsa, and pour a little over each one. This is the best it gets, so simple, yet...

I placed an online order for pick up at Distric Taco on 1919 M St NW, Washington at 6:17 on 6/26/2021 throught districttaco.com and had confirmation number sent to my email. When I called the store, two times, to check if my order was ready for pick up after 45 minutes later, it took a long time for the staff to answer my phone calls and, to my surprise, they stated they did not have my order in their system both times. However, my bank was charged for the full amount of the order + tips. Now I have to call my bank to get my money back and order food somewhere else. They will take your money and won't fill your order. I just read their reviews and found another customer was in the same situation 6 days ago. He was charged for the food, but they did not make the order. If it happened once, it could be a mistake. But when it happened twice within a short period of time, it is more kinda problematic. What a shady place and poor managing system. Stay away from online ordering at this place if you don't want to deal with hassle or...

Usually district taco is pretty good. But at this location it was really strange. Probably needed to take a hint when I came in and the place was completely empty. Staff were kind of rude/bad attitude. I asked for a Corona, he gave me a 90 calorie one and popped it open before I could say anything. I told him I wanted a regular one and I was told that they didn't have one and they this one was already opened so I would get charged anyway. The guy making my bowl reaked of weed, not sure how he was able to function bc he kept asking me what I wanted in my order, it's all right there on the ticket in front of him. I asked for a lime, they said they didn't have any. So salsa either. Asked for a receipt and I was told the printer doesn't work. My food tasted ok so I'm giving 2 stars.

I’ve heard great things about District taco for years and finally ordered a couple tacos to see what the hype was all about. I ordered the three taco combo plus one extra taco. One of them was to be vegetarian with guacamole and a few other toppings. What showed up at my door was a joke. 4 tiny tacos. Look at this taco with only lettuce and a scoop of rice. You’re seriously better off value wise going to chipotle. $15 gets you 3 tiny tacos here. What a complete rip off.
