OK, I am a first time customer, first time Ever walking into a Jos. A. Bank, today after work I walked into your Washington DC branch located at 1200 19th Street Northwest Washington, DC 20036, ok so as a first time shopper a guy approaches me, Asking me " how may I help you" I tell him I am looking for slim fit suits and very tailored look, he says ok, he shows me a few suites, first I try size 38, I say it's too big for me, I wanna go smaller, then he starts the abuse, first he says he has been in the suit industry for 20+ years and that I HAVE TO LISTEN to him because he knows what he is talking about, so I politely smile and start trying size 35 on my own and he giggles and asks " do you want it for work" I reply " yes" then he says " if I was your employer, I would think there is something wrong with you". then I basically ignore this rude comment, then I ask for the price, in a very dismissive way he says "let me check it for you", he walks to the cashier and as he is checking the price for me, he smirks and giggles with the cashier and I hear them talking about me in front of another customer, very humiliating and degrading behaviour and absolutely unprofessional. I was actually going to buy the suit sized 35 for $400 dollars but this line of behaviour really disgusted me, I had enough of bullying, ridiculing and abusive behaviour by the "salesperson". I will never shop there or even step foot into your store due to your lack of professionalism and respect for your customers and will encourage my colleagues and friends from doing so. I called to speak to the general manager there, Mr. Kevin Webb but he was not in. I am so disappointed and feel humiliated/bullied by your...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreGo elsewhere for tailoring. Yes, this store has a friendly staff, and they are very good at selling you things. So if you want the old school style where a guy helps you around with everything then sure this is an alright place. But do not use their tailoring, go anywhere else. I landed a big promotion and went in for new suits to look the part. I bought three suits and some shirts, reasonably priced for the quality. But when I came for pick-up (on the day they told me) they didn't have the suits, they told me to come back in a week. I came back two weeks later, they still didn't have the suits. I came back two weeks later and they said they didn't have the suits. I told them that the suits were almost a month late and they sent someone into the back room to look. Thirty five minutes (that's not an exaggeration) later the guy comes back with my suits. I take them home to try them on, and the pant waists have not been altered at all and I can barely fit into them. I go back a couple weeks later and show them that the pants don't fit, but the tailor lady tells me that I didn't ask for the alterations at which point I point to the obscenely tight waist and ask her how I could've put those pants on and not wanted the alterations. Ten minutes later they're still trying to charge me for alterations that I already paid for. I told them 'look, you can charge me the $30, but I'm never coming back here again.' At that point they let it go. In summary, decent quality clothes, good salespeople,...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have worked around this location for the better part of 17 years. They have saved my bacon on so many occasions. I spilled coffee on my shirt before a big meeting, walked in they had me in a new shirt, had it pressed and out the door in a matter of minutes. I was in a suit and got invited to a Nationals game in the summer, walked in got shorts, a polo shirt, and some casual socks and out the door in no time. I have bought about 20 suits there over my time with them and all the experiences have been great. I will be the first to admit that some of the staff changes over and there are some that are there for a pushy sale. Arthur "Art" has been there forever, and I will tell you that I would trust him with anything. He gets to know you, what you are looking for, and knows the fits and materials of every suit and piece of clothing in there....and he never forgets a face! So many people are looking for the quick walk in and walk out, but in order to get a suit that feels good and fits right, you need to spend a little time, so be patient. You are not buying a Big Mac at McDonalds! For the product, the price is worth it. I have tried Mens Wharehouse and K&G (Nightmare!), and others, and Joseph A....
