Since 1986, locals will tell you to go to a Dupont Circle alley to find a good burrito. 36 years later, it stands true. After going for lunch on a Wednesday, here's my experience: 1) Food: Posted at the entryway in the alley is a long menu of different kinds of burritos, open-face burritos, tacos and other items. Open every day of the week for lunch and dinner, there's always a daily special, making it a more affordable lunch in an expensive neighborhood. I ordered the grilled shrimp taco with mild salsa and all the fillings- lettuce, tomatoes, grilled onions and peppers, etc. It was good, but I wish I had requested rice to fill in the burrito more. With a line, I only had to wait for 10-15 minutes and ordering was easy! 2) Space: It's tucked away in an alley with views of St. Matthews Cathedral. Inside is small, but they make good use of the space. There's a clear area to order and a small dining area that doubles as a waiting area. There's a bookshelf filled with old cookbooks and other items, local art on the walls and a 2014 mural by Bryan King of dancing penguins by the Dupont Circle fountain. 3) Neighborhood: Just south of Dupont Circle there are countless restaurants nearby for the lunch and dinner crowds. Public art, museums and art galleries, there's a lot to do. If you love a good deli, wander a block to Bub and Pop's.

I’ve been a loyal customer at this restaurant for about a year or so now and at first the food and the customer service was extremely excellent and I couldn’t expect more. I actually used to rave reviews to family and friends about this restaurant and even a few people tagged along with me to this restaurant. Up until about a few months ago, this restaurant has been really pissing me off. Extremely unprofessional workers answering the phone, fluctuating business hours different from the ones posted online and then today, I traveled two hours just to come to this restaurant, which supposedly opens at noon, when I arrived other guests and I who had been waiting outside, because we were greeted with locked business doors were told that the restaurant would open up 15 minutes late because of catering staff issues, no disrespect and not to be selfish but what does that have to do with us, your loyal customers having to wait outside of your business doors in the heat because you are running behind. I believe that was unprofessional and extremely inconsiderate. I also experienced the same scenario once before where I and other guests were required to wait because the restaurant did not open up at its normal or scheduled time due to their catering situation but also seen them opening and accepting orders from certain people and not others before whatever time they said the restaurant would open…. Just...

Best lunch spot in DC - cheap, plentiful, good quality, and there's a constantly changing menu. The namesake "Well Dressed Burrito" is a daily special, and while there are some favorites that seem to make it back every week, there's plenty of variety. If that isn't your thing, there's a daily salad which also rotates, and "The Grill" - a slightly more expensive ($11-$13) entree that really showcases WDB's roots as a legit catering company. Case in point - the rootbeer braised short rib is divine. That's just the rotating daily menu though - there's a staple, always-available menu of items where you can get standard Tex-Mex fare like enchiladas, normal burritos, chimichangas, etc.

If you arrive at opening, there's not much of a wait, but around 12:10 you can expect to spend at least a few minutes waiting for your food, and at its worst it could be 20 minutes. That being said, it's indoors and air conditioned, so even in the summer heat it's not that bad. Special holiday events bring treats like in-store Easter egg hunts, free margarita shots (for those of age) and other perks. And let's not forget the people - it's an incredibly friendly bunch of people there, so don't be afraid to make a new...
