Dupont Market — Restaurant in Washington

I must start by saying that I love Dupont Market and come here on a weekly basis, this is also my first time ever leaving a review for a restaurant. The food is great and the staff is friendly and helpful. However, I was EXTREMELY disappointed when I went in and experienced how condescending the owner(?) is to his employees. Barking orders and speaking down to them in front of all of the customers. I can’t imagine how he treats them when there isn’t an audience. This review is not to dissuade people from going to Dupont Market (although now I will seriously consider supporting this man’s business anymore), but rather a reminder to be friendly, tip well, and don’t be afraid to speak up when you see the workers being treated unfairly when they work so hard. Been going here for years and never been disappointed. Such a consistently solid custom sandwich place for lunch. I got a takeaway sandwich for a friend who is visiting from out of town - and he said: "I'd like to think I'm a sandwich guy - and you know, this was an overall excellent sandwich. I think the proportions of each of the ingredients was exceptionally balanced. The bread in particular was well toasted, high quality. I liked that the size of each bread was well sized.
