We stayed at The Darcy and had a brunch and dinner at Gerrard Street Kitchen. The brunch was delicious! We started off with the croissant with tahini and molasses dip. Never would have thought of that combination, but it was really good! I had the shakshuka and my husband had the Korean wings and truffle fries. First time having the shakshuka and I really enjoyed it. Loved that it came with the freshly baked French bread that was crusty on the outside and soft on the inside. It made for great dipping into the tasty combination of onions, tomatoes, spices, and egg of the shakshuka. The wings were crispy and delicious and combined with the truffle fries, made my husband very happy. We don't always do dessert at brunch, but why not! We had the Floating Island that was like biting into a yummy cloud. The passion fruit was a great compliment. We also had the crunch bar which I loved because I'm a chocolate person and loved the creaminess and combination of chocolate and hazelnut. We were there again for a late dinner and started with the crispy brussels sprouts and the Indian paratha tacos. The brussels sprouts were very good and the tacos were so tasty! I probably could have had a couple orders of that for my dinner and been happy. I had the What A Match sushi roll and really enjoyed the combination of shrimp tempura and spicy tuna in one roll. I'm not someone who enjoys oysters, but my husband said they were very good--fresh and cold and he really liked the sauces that accompanied them. I will say it was a nice presentation, too. Overall, we really enjoyed our meals at GSK and would definitely...
Read moreWhat is there not to love about Gerrard’s Street Kitchen. The servers, staff and waiters are excellent and the FOOD IS BEYOND DELICIOUS! I almost never eat at the hotel restaurants but omg this one delivered 10s each and every time. The photos I have are both dinner and breakfast. The sushi was fresh and delicious, the edamame was good, breakfast was a delight, the wings were so good I was sad when I finished them, but my favorite was the shrimp and angus burgers. Those two are the stars of the menu. I know food is good when you don’t need anything extra, I ate it just with cheese, because the quality of the beef was superb. We ordered the burger 3 different times. The shrimp burger I had on the last night and even if I didn’t stay at the Darcy, which I did, I would come just for the food. Everything was fresh, cooked to perfection, and super delicious. One comment on the breakfast, never have I had salmon avocado toast that good. Where they got those capers I have no idea but my plate was clean, only the stems of the capers. You cannot go wrong on this menu. And the coffee was excellent, better than the place next door, which I tried. Go to Gerard’s and thank me later. I also had the pleasure of getting a waitress named Simone a few times. She made my in room service a delight, made sure I had all the fixings, water and cold drinks. Her service was above and beyond, I wanted her each time. Such a wonderful attitude and great work ethic, she made my day! Thank you Gerrard’s I feel my money...
Read moreMy husband surprised me with a fabulous fixed menu Valentine's Day dinner at Gerrard Street Kitchen. Although the manager was apologetic that they were short staffed and service was a bit uncoordinated, the food was incredible and worth the wait!
Our seafood appetizer was a symphony of colors and textures. The shrimp were intensely flavorful, and the sushi roll was even better than the finest sushi I had in Japan. You don't think much about the amuse-bouche; but wow! Combining celery and pear in a sorbet- who would've thought that this combination would be so delicious! Then came the main course, cooked perfectly and so tender- we both had the sea bass- every bite was a pleasure. The presentation was beautiful and artistic, and the little mushroom caps on the potato cubes were absolute perfection, with just a touch of caramelized sweetness, in perfect harmony. Then came dessert. It looked like a display of art, with 3 different delicacies, all in perfect balance. We have dined in many fine restaurants around the world, and we found the quality of their food on par with several Michelin-star restaurants. It was really, truly up there with the best. The chef, Ali, is obviously a master of his craft, and selected the freshest and highest-quality ingredients, presented together in the most imaginative and delightful ways. We are eager to return and try the different dishes from their regular...
