We'd been walking around all the monuments and started to get hungry when I remembered that guy that had been on Top Chef had opened a burger joint that I'd heard was good. So, I Googled it and quickly remembered the name of the chef, Spike, and learned that the restaurant was called the Good Stuff Eatery and that there was a location in Georgetown.
The restaurant is one where you place your order at the counter and then get a buzzer when it's ready. There was seating outside and upstairs. We sat upstairs, and there were some TVs with sports on. It wasn't high end dining, but it was a nice crowd, the tables were clean and orderly and aside from being a bit warm, we had no problem finding a comfortable place to sit even though it was quite busy in the line and I was afraid we wouldn't find a seat.
I had a basic cheeseburger cooked to well done as I like it and I didn't get the special sauce as they said it was mayo based. Nonetheless, my burger was really tasty and the toppings and the bun were fresh and delicious. The fries were fantastic. There's nothing sadder than really bad fries with a good burger, but the fries here were fresh, crispy, and absolutely perfect. Though it was a simple order of a burger and fries, I really enjoyed my meal and would definitely eat there again if I am in DC again or in one of the other cities where Spike has other locations.
It's really cool to see that he has been so successful after having watched him on the...
Read moreFast casual burger and shake joint with OK burgers, soggy fries, good milkshake, and a great dining area.
The Nashville Hot burger was not hot at all and rather bland, so I had to get a few sauces to make it less bland. And, I'm not a smoker so it's not like my taste buds are shot. The bun bread is good and chicken is well fried just tasteless.
My SO got the shroom burger with the small fries and mini moo. He said the burger was okay.
The cookies and cream milkshake was good, just standard Oreo milkshake. Not as good as Silver Diner but pretty decent and what you'd expect.
Portion sizes are big. Both the small fry and the mini moo were quite large and can be shared between two. We didn't even finish the shake.
Second floor was much larger than expected. Comfortable seating and there are many TVs giving off college sports bar vibe. Crowd seemed young which explains the price and taste here.
Would i come here again? No. We were really hungry though and wanted something fast and something unsurprising so it fulfilled out purpose on a rainy...
Read moreWe always take our DC visitors to eat here but on Saturday we were so mortified by the treatment of your staff. (He had Miriah over one eyebrow) He kept cutting us off while trying to order and was extremely impatient. It was clear he wasn’t hearing us and getting our order correct so we repeated it twice; two combos with shakes, one combo with a drink and one sandwich. When we picked up the order we only had one shake, and when we brought it to his attention his caustic reaction was so rude and hostile telling us we did not and if we wanted another shake he was going to charge us for it. Our visitors were from out of the country and we were so embarrassed by his aggressive behavior we actually paid a second time for our shake. Your staff is in great need of training in costumer service and basic manners. So frustrated to pay double and leave a tip for this kind of behavior and treatment. We will have to find a new place to take our company so we won’t have to apologize for their experience in your...
