Heartland Grill and Catering — Restaurant in Washington

Disappointed- Heartland has always been our go to breakfast place for several years and we know the recent move to it’s new location was not really what the owner wanted but now they are a product of their own success. What used to be great personalized service and a wonderful small town atmosphere and good food is now less than it was before. Recent visit found us seated for almost an hour with coffee and order given with no food on the table and no attention from the waitress for coffee refill or to let us know the status of our order. We finally left without eating, only to be told by the owner in response to our disappointment “Well you can see we are really busy,” not concerned at all that we were walking out. It appears she is trying to meet an increased service need with the same number of staff. So, sad to say we are not sure we will be back. Owners response to us could have been better and would have made the world of difference as to if we were to return. Hope they can improve their service and their treatment of their customers when they are voicing dissatisfaction for the sake of all who want to take in...

Sunday lunchtime, very busy. We met up with my wife's parents, who were already seated. We had a 2 year old with us, sitting on my lap. Not a good idea as he got very fidgety while we waited for our order to be done. Waitress was nice, though very busy. After about 15 minutes, with the little one getting more and more restless, my wife and I decided to change our order to a (to go). The Waitress said it had already been plated, and asked if we were we sure about wanting it to go. We said yes, we still wanted it to go. Then another lady came out from the kitchen telling us that the meals were already plated and would be soon at our table. We said we would still like them to go, then she walked away from our table shaking her head, as if we were causing a problem. I thought that was pretty rude and even thought about just canceling the order, but decided to just go upto the register pay, collect the meals and get the heck out of there. Which we did. Don’t come here, you will be ripped off. Ordered a meal with a side of pancake for my meal. Menu said $2.00 under the side item for pancake. When I got to pay, they added it under my husband and wanted to charge $9.00 for a PANCAKE. I added to my meal, my husband did not order it and they wanted to argue saying all the food was ate. Yes, it was, however it was charged wrong. One waitress didnt understand and our waitress wanted to be rude and snippy about it. I would pay for our meal, yes we ate all the food, but was charged wrong. And they wanted to argue saying it was ate-yes but still charged wrong. $17 for a tenderloin and pancake meal-NEVER...
