El Charrito Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Washington

We were traveling up the east coast and while staying in the area for a couple days, stopped in to El Charrito. I read all the reviews, not only of this place, but all of the Mexican joints in the area and decided to come here. 1st, let me state that the fact that with 133 reviews left for this place, there are 0 "1-star" reviews. Not 1 person had a bad enough experience to give this place the worst rating. If they had 20 or 30 reviews, that would be a great testament to the quality of this place. But 133?! Amazing. There is always the hard-to -please "yelp critic" who gets pissy and leaves a 1 star....but not here. Now to the food and experience: spent the last 8 years living in Los Angeles among some of the best Mexican joints you can find in the states. The food here ranks right with them. Soooo many unique house specials and so much to choose from. $3.00 margaritas ALL DAY!!! Unreal! Do not let the plain exterior of the place fool you. This place is amazing, and deserves every one of the 5 stars I'm giving it. If you are around this place, its worth it to go out of your way for great authentic Mexican food. Kudos to El Charrito!!! Was disappointed on arrival that the dining room was closed. Was told they could not hire enough help to have the dining room open. My party was riding motorcycles and the manager allowed us to sit in the outside dining area to eat and place our order. She was very sweet and took great care of us. Very disappointed in the service. The owner did try to rectify the situation. The waiter never came back for my order and then over charged us by almost $9. Not by one mistake but by adding various items. Perhaps it was for the dinner I never got a chance to order? The time before, our waitress couldnt speak English AT ALL.
