King Chicken Drive-In — Restaurant in Washington

Nobody was answering, so I placed an order online through their website as directed by their telephonic recording. When we arrived to pick up our order, we were told they were out of cheese, so they offered to refund half of our order. I said I wanted a full refund and decided to spend my money, elsewhere. Then we were told the online ordering is through a third-party and couldn't be refunded. I didn't accept her answer. The lady in the front went and got another lady, that lady claimed the owner would be refunding me right then. I pull up the order and it still hasn't been canceled or refunded. I asked to speak to the lady again, I was told the manager left. I said I'd wait for her. Fast forward ab 10 minutes and I call the location, the same lady who told me the manager left lied to me and said she was the manager. After realizing I was still standing in the lobby, she retracted her statement and said she'd go "check to see if she's back". She brings another lady out entirely and said the other manager was gone. The second lady that came out was very polite, she was going to let me get the same value I was charged, in chicken. As we are finishing up, the manager that was "gone", walks up to her and scolds her. She has her walk back to the window and at the same moment I got an email saying a refund had been issued. I told her it was okay and nevermind. Then I see underneath in tiny print that I won't receive my $23.89 for 7-10 business days. So, because YOU were out of cheese and I tried to give you my business, I have to wait for my money? I'm out an HOUR of my time and you couldn't just let her give me the chicken? After being lied to multiple times and having my time wasted?! EXTREMELY unprofessional! I will NEVER eat here again. If they would've given me my refund when I asked for it, I never would've complained about the credit card wait. An hour later and the aggravation and I STILL have to wait for my refund and I still had to go spend money somewhere else. Just no. Do NOT order online from these people!!!! If they're out of something they don't even communicate it or update their website to let anyone know. She didn't try to issue that refund until she saw the other girl fixing the issue. Just ridiculous. Thank you to the lady that actually tried to rectify the issue, the other manager/owner gets zero...

One of my top 3 Best places to get southern country food and a great price. I just moved to Washington NC lil over 2 months now and I've ate there over a dozen times if that tells u anything. I usually eat out between 1-2 times a week most weeks. They have great chicken, bbq, Lima beans, onion rings are big and cooked perfectly and I've never had corn nuggets before I thought it be like corn pudding but in balls and I was right they are delicious. Just ask for the bigger ones so more stuff inside bc lil ones the corn inside is hard and not as good but that's my only complaint. And one other halfway complaint is the app to download so I can get 10 percent I believe off ur first online order well my phone won't let me download it. It said it was too old of a system or not compatible with mine well something like that so Im not able to take advantage of that savings or able to order food Thur the app which sux for me bc I do a lot through my phone. It would be nice if they were able to get it were more types of phones could download the app and probably get more business that way to especially when I go there bc I spend anywhere from 10 to 45 dollars in there each time and not bc it's high priced either bc I get alot of different things for family of three to eat. This place is absolutely amazing! 😃 I can't even begin to describe how sweet and welcoming the staff is. Since it's my first time here, I had no idea what barbecue chop was. 🍖 I asked, and they kindly offered me a small sample to taste. It's not a dish I'm familiar with, and I didn't end up ordering it, but they were totally fine with that. 👍

We ordered a 4-piece black chicken dinner with onion rings and okra. 🍗 The chicken is amazing! It's not like those fried chicken dishes with overpowering flavors; it's all about the delicious taste of the chicken itself. The meat is incredibly fresh and juicy. The only downside is their food box; since the food comes out hot, it gets a bit moist inside the box, which is probably why everyone enjoys their food in the parking lot. 🚗💨

The fried okra is really good, but there's so much of it that we had to save some for tomorrow. 😋🍽️

When it comes to their chicken, if I were to rate it, I'd give it a 4.5 out of 5. But their fried flounder? That's a solid 10 out of 5! 🐟 It's absolutely amazing, and my friend and I actually prefer it over their fried chicken.
