This Ihop has FIERCE competition with the local mom-and-pop cafe: BISHOP's less than a block away. BISHOP's has a nearly perfect rating with hundreds of very positive reviews. So, why would anyone come to this Ihop? Foremost: Food variety. This Ihop provides all the typical breakfast fares, and if we're honest, it's "regular" breakfasts are just as good as the local's. Maybe better! This Ihop SEASONS it's food, as in, take a bite before adding salt and pepper. You may be pleasantly surprised you don't need to add anything! Ihop's breakfast is consistent and nearly screw-up free in its preparation. For example, the hashbrowns come in a perfectly seasoned and crispy 4x3 inch form; the "over medium" eggs, have zero runny whites! Strangely, only the pancakes are a bit sub-standard (the crust/top separates from the fluffy interior when cutting with a fork). Also, at this Ihop, the food seems to take longer to get to your table (for me, 24 mins), HOWEVER, every aspect of it was HOT and ready. The other establishment always seems to bring your toast out after you're halfway thru eating your eggs! SAD. The only significant down side to this Ihop over its competition is the price. Expect to pay $15-18 for one person, including $4 for coffee (yikes). The competition, roughly $13-15 for same order. Bottom line, if you want a consistently cooked plate of food that comes out with an appropriate temperature, and, all the food comes at the same time, it's worth a couple buck more. BTW: one of the long-standing waitresses from Bishop's now works at Ihop. Very experienced,...
Read moreWe had a family of 10, and they insisted they we leave a table between us. 6 at one table and 4 of us at another table. We were like "That means we're actually closer to everyone else" and they said that we would have to leave a table in the middle of our family or we could leave.
Seriously, in what world does it make sense to have a family sit separate because they're over 6 people, and then have to move them closer to other people? Very bad experience. They just cited corporate policy.
Where is basic common sense? I love most iHop's, but there are a couple locations where I refuse to give my business. I won't be back here.
I realize 1-star is harsh, but we've got to get some semblance of rationality in all of this. Bad policy Washington, Utah iHop.
EDIT: Note that for clarity, them having our family move over a table actually would have put our family CLOSER THAN 6'!!! They wanted to separate us because we were 10 people in a group, which then placed that part of our group closer than 6' to another family with small children!
We chose to leave over their unreasonable policy as it just plain made ZERO sense. It would have been one thing if they just wanted us to be separate in a smaller group, but moving us closer to another family just for the sake of breaking up our...
Read moreWorst ihop experience I’ve ever encountered. The lady with gray hair wearing a black shirt (I’m assuming manager) was rude! Didn’t greet us, sat us at a table but we requested a booth, mind you it was 9am on a Thursday so a lot of tables were empty. She was able to give us a booth after wiping the table down, when she took our drink orders she came back with the wrong stuff then gave us attitude because the table across from us ordered a milkshake and she thought we did. Our server Alejandro, was no attentive at all. We waited 30mins and the table across from us got their food before us even though we ordered first. After about 10mins more I asked Alejandro if our food was almost out as it had been passed 30mins of waiting for a simple pancakes and eggs plate. He gave me side eye and said it has not been 30mins come on. Like excuse me ?? Then we get our food and everything was COLD !!! Top it off, I ask for the receipt and it clearly states free refills on hot chocolate but he charged us double for every refill !!! LOL I came in town to visit family but I will or my family will never be back to ihop again. You are better off getting McDonald’s or even Sonics down the street. Don’t waste your money here the food wasn’t...
