Disappointed in the curry, made with tiny square carrots and peas (which always remind me of frozen vegetables from the 80's), and the meat texture was rubbery (seemingly a lower quality frozen meat). I paid extra for a 2nd meat portion, and the curry container was still not full. Brown rice is also an extra charge on top of that (not noted in the menu online) and the online ordering system does not allow a customer to make that change with the extra fee. I made the request in the notes, and was only notified after I arrived to pick up the order, and had to wait for the brown rice order to be placed at that time. I had proactively left a tip when I placed the order, and wish I could have taken it back.
I hate leaving a low star review for anyone, but its not fair to the better establishments if a customer review is not truly honest.
I can't speak to the other dishes or sit down service. The curry and take out was not a...
Read moreWe were very disappointed by our experience. I tried their coconut shrimp appetizer, which turned out to be the coconut shrimp you buy at Costo. My wife tried the Tom Kha, which had no lime flavor at all.
For an entre I tried the Pad Thai, which I get at almost every Thai restaurant I visit. I find it interesting how different the dish can be, especially on a scale of sweet vs savory. I couldn't really say if Bankok Thai's Pad Thai was sweet or savory because it didn't have much flavor at all. And they served it with, of all things, lemon slices. Maybe there is some kind of regional Pad Thai that uses lemon instead of lime, but... no. My wife got the pineapple fried rice, They put curry powder in the dish which completely overwhelmed any pineapple flavor.
Bottom line - there are several other good Thai restaurants in St. George. ...
Read moreWe were a party of 4. The restaurant has a cozy atmosphere and not pretentious. There is not a lot of seating but I really liked the small, quaint feeling. Food came out fast and each of us were pleased with our dishes and each said it's now on our list of restaurant to come back to. We had the steamed dumplings and coconut shrimp as appetizers. Both we adequate, but nothing spectacular. 2 of us had the drunken noodles, one with beef and one with pork. It was delicious. I can see myself getting this to-go on a regular basis. Another in the group had the pineapple curry and sad it was delicious and they'd be making it a regular item for them also. The last person had the Panang Curry and also liked it. Each person also got to choose the level of heat in the dish. We will be back. Bangkok Thai Express is definitely a...
