Jane Jane — Restaurant in Washington

I really didn’t want to post this publicly as it’s not really my style to go posting negative things like this but since their website has no way to contact them via email…

On Saturday (9/6) I had friends in town and they wanted a drink. So it’s been a few years, I chose Jane Jane. Of course, Saturday night I expected a wait or to be fully booked. The host was nice and greeted us gave us the rundown and said it wouldn’t be too long but added us to the wait list. So we ventured down to another place while we waited on the text.

Shortly after we ordered drinks from the other spot, I got the text. I responded and hit 1 to confirm within 4 minutes. We chugged our drinks and walked the two blocks back. Arrived within 7 minutes of the text. The host tells me sorry, that he gave up my spot because I didn’t respond fast enough. I said to him, on the text it says you have a 10 minute grace period and I reiterated that to him with his reply being “yeah I know, I don’t ever wait the full 10 minutes, I’m really sorry but I can add you back to the list and it won’t be long”

What’s the point of even having this style of wait list if you’re not going to follow your own guidelines? I wanted my friends to enjoy a decent cocktail, which they did, but we were jammed in the corner of the bar, standing while we waited on something to open. Well we ordered drinks and never got sat by the time we finished them. Thankfully they liked the space and the cocktails, but also when it came time to close out I just let the bartender know when he had a moment I’d take the check. He acknowledged me and said give him a moment to finish the current drinks he had (perfectly understandable)

Got back to talking with my friends, about 10 minutes goes by and I had to ask him again, and then someone from the background heard me and came over to cash us out. I’ve liked Jane Jane during my very few visits over the years, but this was very disappointing. Thankfully the drinks were good and my friends liked the vibe, but I think I’ll pass on any future visits as it’s definitely declined overall since my last visit a couple years ago. Being in the industry, I really hate posting negative stuff, but this was just a poor experience. Hope the owners see this and fix it for...

I've visited JaneJane multiple times and, for the most part, had great experiences. Unfortunately, this recent visit was far from the usual standard, leaving much to be desired.

We arrived and were told our table wasn't quite ready yet, so we decided to order drinks from the bar while standing as it wasn't busy. We managed to get through half of our group's order when the bartender abruptly stopped us and said we had to close the tab and order from the table instead. While we understood, this led to unnecessary delays when we sat down, as our server, Camilo, took a while to approach us. After finally placing our order, it took far too long to receive our drinks. In hindsight, it would have been more efficient if the bartender had allowed us to finish our drink order, instead of cutting us off prematurely.

JaneJane provides complimentary Cheez-Its. Camilo brought our party of 6 just one quarter cup bowl. We asked for more, and were told we'd have to pay for a refill. We agreed, but were only given half a cup, which felt quite inadequate for the amount charged. As if that wasn't enough, Camilo took even longer to bring our food and second round of drinks. Then, with no consideration for our experience, he informed us that we needed to leave because another group was expected. At that point, we decided to ask for the check.

To make matters worse, Camilo added drinks to our bill that we hadn’t ordered. After pointing it out, he became argumentative and insisted everything was correct. It wasn’t until the host—who had been nothing but kind and helpful from start to finish—intervened that the issue was resolved. Kudos to him for stepping in, but the rest of our experience left a lot to be desired.

Management should take a serious look at Camilo's service. This visit had us questioning whether we'd return, which is unfortunate because we’ve always enjoyed JaneJane...

As a 32-year-old with an eye for aesthetics, I can't help but give this cocktail bar a glowing 5-star review! From the moment I stepped in, I was greeted by an ambiance that perfectly blended sophistication with cozy vibes. The attention to detail in the decor, from the sleek bar stools to the mood lighting, instantly won me over.

Now let's talk about the cocktails - oh my, they were a work of art! Each drink was expertly crafted with premium ingredients, showcasing a perfect balance of flavors that left my taste buds dancing with delight. Whether I was in the mood for a classic martini or feeling adventurous with a signature concoction, every sip was a revelation.

But what truly sets this bar apart is the service. The staff exuded warmth and professionalism, making me feel right at home from start to finish. Their knowledge of the menu was impeccable, and their recommendations were spot-on.
