Upon entering Barcelona Restaurant, I was immediately captivated by its inviting and lively atmosphere. The interior design reflects the spirit of Barcelona, with its vibrant colors, rustic elements, and an open kitchen that adds a touch of excitement. The combination of modern and traditional decor creates a warm and welcoming ambiance, perfect for enjoying a memorable meal.
The menu at Barcelona Restaurant showcases a delightful array of Spanish dishes, expertly crafted to bring authentic flavors to the table. From tapas and paellas to traditional meat and seafood specialties, there is a diverse selection that caters to various tastes and preferences.
During my visit, I had the pleasure of savoring numerous dishes that showcased the culinary expertise of Barcelona Restaurant. The patatas bravas, crispy potatoes topped with a spicy tomato sauce and aioli, were a tantalizing appetizer bursting with flavor. The paella, cooked to perfection with saffron-infused rice, succulent seafood, and aromatic spices, was a true highlight of the meal. Each bite was a symphony of taste that transported me to the Mediterranean coast.
The service at Barcelona Restaurant was exceptional. The staff members were attentive, knowledgeable, and passionate about the cuisine they presented. They were well-versed in recommending dishes and pairing wines to enhance the dining experience. Their attention to detail and warm hospitality contributed to the overall enjoyment of the evening.
In addition to the culinary delights, Barcelona Restaurant boasts an impressive selection of Spanish wines and craft cocktails. The extensive drink menu perfectly complements the food, offering a range of options to suit every preference. Whether you're a wine connoisseur or an adventurous cocktail enthusiast, you'll find something to elevate your dining experience.
While Barcelona Restaurant offers a high-quality dining experience, it's important to note that prices may be on the higher side. However, the exceptional flavors, attentive service, and authentic ambiance make it well worth the investment for a special occasion or a memorable night out.
In conclusion, Barcelona Restaurant in Washington, D.C., is a culinary gem that captures the essence of the vibrant Barcelona dining scene. From the inviting ambiance to the exquisite flavors of Spanish cuisine, every aspect of the experience at Barcelona Restaurant is carefully curated to create a memorable gastronomic journey. I highly recommend Barcelona Restaurant to anyone seeking an authentic taste of Spain in the heart of...
Read moreThe service was a little slow and the food for the evening was really salty which was a little disappointing. We often had to flag our server down or have to ask someone else to put in an order. The charcuterie does not come with any crackers or additions, just the meat and cheese you choose. You do get bread and olive oil which was pretty good.
Drinks do take a little while but they are good if you're ordering something else besides wine. We started off with the Guns & Rosés Sangria and Red Sangria. We did try the white sangria but it was a little too sweet so we opted for the red which was delicious. Not too sweet and well made. The Guns & Rosés was a little too tart for me and you definitely get thay grapefruit coming through but it was still good. We went through a couple 3 oz pours which include
2017 Peñalolen- Cabernet Sauvignon 2014 Nucerro Reserva - Tempranillo 2017 Primitivo Quilles, Cono 4 - Monastrell 2018 Una de Vida, Biográfico - Tempranillo, Graciano 2017 Vara y Pulgat - Tintilla Wine Flight - Aperitivos- BarCava/La Cigarera/El Bandarra Vermut
My favorite was the Tempranillo as it was the least dry and the El Bandarra Vermut which had a but of sweetness to it as a red vermouth. The most dry was definitely the La Cigarera so I didn't care much for thay as well as the Biográfico.
Food we ordered the 3 Charcuterie with the Chorizo Picante, Sobrasada and Drunken Goat Cheese. The Chorizo had a great flavor but the quality was just alright. I liked the texture of the Sobrasada as it was softer and interesting but the flavor wasn't as steong as the Chorizo. The Drunken Goat is a semi soft cheese and the red wine was very light but pretty good. We also ordered the Grilled Broccolini, Arroz Meloso, Hanger Steak, and Spiced Beef Empanadas. The flavors were all great but everything was just really salty aside from the Broccolini. The Almond Romesco with the broccolini was delicious and great with the bread too. We asked for the steak to be medium rare and it came out more medium. The steak was good but the truffle vinaigrette had way too much salt. The beef emapandas filling was also too salty. If it had less salt, it would have been amazing. I did enjoy the flavor if the Arroz Meloso but again, the additional salt did ruin it a bit.
We did end up ordering dessert. We ordered the chocolate cake with the coffee creme anglaise and Almond crumble. This was amazing, it was moist and not overly sweet.
Overall a decent a experience. I do wish the food was a little better but the atmosphere and...
Read moreWent there for my wife's 30th birthday. We had called several days in advance and we talked to the Manager about having a party of 20 for dinner. We were told that as long as we kept it to 20, they would guarantee that we would all have one table (this was a big deal to us and hence why we decided to do the event at this location). We made the reservation for 8:30pm. Once we arrived there, we are told that we could not be seated until we had the majority of the people there. Being a big group, we asked them how many people that meant, since for big parties, some people tend to get a little bit later and we were told to inform them when we had more people. Looking around at the restaurant it was clear that they didn't have "our big table"... People start to show up and we kept asking them if we could start getting seated with 10, then 12, then 14 people...at this point the manager came and we were notified that they didn't actually have one table for us... and all this time they were buying time... it was already 9:00pm, all the party was there and we didn't have a a table. After going at it back and forth, he told us that they had a private event and that took priority... but we were never informed about it, we had confirmed the reservation, we had even called earlier that same day asking about possibly bringing a cake and it was clear they had not planned for our reservation... So all we could do was to wait for several tables to clear
We finally got a table almost at 9:30 we finally got a table. While they seated us on a table, it was clearly not a space for that many people. All chairs were pretty much touching each other and we had to seat a couple of people on each end side of the table. The only good thing about it was that they served us one round of shots and added a couple appetizers. The servers and the food were good (hence why the 2 stars and not 1), but I would not recommend them for...
