Such a solid spot! Whether you’re a sports fan, solo barhopper, or a small group looking for something to do (they have board/bar games, too) this is the place. I haven’t tried the food yet but I’ve heard great things, and for a bar, the menu is stacked. As an Ohioan I left Johnny’s with a smile—there’s something so cool about seeing familiar Ohio memorabilia/brands in a cozy-but-curated, chill, vintage, and preppy vibe. Johnny’s is just a great hang!!! And the staff/ownership being chill is just the cherry on top. Johnny’s is my new go-to.

We always choose Johnny's All American to showcase a lively neighborhood bar to our clients. The decor, paying homage to the owner's grandfather's army service and community involvement, is truly impressive. Witnessing a person's legacy reflected in the intricate details on the walls and artwork adds a special touch to the overall experience. It's a unique and meaningful atmosphere that resonates with both history and community spirit.

I was in D.C for a work conference and came here to celebrate my birthday with friends who live in D.C. (its Ohio roots led me to check it out). We had a great time! Food was great, and everyone we met there was so nice - complete strangers enjoying themselves at the bar were friendly and excited to see new people. It’ll be a stop every time I’m in town, and I know my local friends were impressed and looking forward to returning.

As a first-time customer, my recent visit to Johnny's All American in Columbia Heights left me quite disappointed. Upon arrival, my friend and I stood at the doorway waiting for assistance, only to be ignored by a couple of employees who were engrossed in their own conversation. This initial encounter was far from welcoming and certainly not the friendly atmosphere one might expect from a local establishment.

Despite this rocky start, our waitress was a redeeming factor. She was friendly, attentive, and made a thoughtful drink recommendation, which we appreciated. The cheeseburger platter we ordered was delicious, but it lacked a distinctive quality, tasting very similar to the frozen burger patties I usually buy from Costco.

The restaurant’s ambiance was equally perplexing. It seems to straddle the line between a neighborhood dive and a college sports bar, but it doesn’t fully commit to either identity. This makes for a confusing atmosphere that doesn’t quite hit the mark on either front.

Overall, while there were some positive aspects, like our waitress's service and the decent burger, the unwelcoming reception and the lack of a clear, appealing identity left me underwhelmed. With so many dining options in Columbia Heights, it's hard to find a compelling reason to return to Johnny's...

The owner also owns Sauce City where they charge people for orders, steal peoples hard earned money, and then never ship the items they order. It’s been 2.5 months since I placed order #1183

I tried contacting multiple times via email, phone, and instagram. No response besides “it’s a one man show and I’m working on it” but can post on Instagram everyday about his dang restaurant but obviously doesn’t care about taking money from people who work their butts off to earn said money.

I work my a*s off running an animal rescue and every spare penny I get goes towards vet care for these animals. I finally bought myself something I’d enjoy because I love cooking and go figure I get scammed.

I’d avoid going here because the owner is a crook.

Editing to add I was contacted by TWO other people when they saw my request for refund on an Instagram post saying he did the same thing it then 😒

Just an edit 5 months later to say he still refuses to refund me (it’s been almost 10 months) he said it’s “hard to find orders and refund people” 🙄 it’s also hard to lose $50. I’m sure you can tell by his responses to other negative reviews he loves to...

I hate giving places mediocre reviews, but for context I have been coming here for a year. The place has always been a good place, however in recent times it’s fell off a bit. They are usually severely understaffed which is fine during the week, but on the weekends when the place is packed I’ve seen them multiple times only have one cook and one bartender, no one to even take orders. Not only that but sometimes it is hard to get people’s attention, the workers all seem stressed out. They also say that they are closed on Mondays but then when I walk past the place it is open… I don’t know if it’s like a managerial thing, but it is more of like a sports bar so I figure the weekends they would want to have adequate staff to manage more people. Personally I hope they bounce back but to be honest I’m unsure. I personally like their food compared to the places next store, but for the past couple of months I’ve found myself taking friends to the other places just simply because I can’t get anyone’s attention. I also just think that you need to have a schedule and stick to the schedule, but it...
