Rather a strange experience! Place looks lovely and is bustling and busy as a restaurant should be, so first impressions were good. But the front of house guy was surly and first of all tried to direct us to a table that could only accommodate one person, and then when we got an appropriate table we only got one menu. Our server was then even more rude, barely spoke a word and practically threw our drinks and food down. Only when it came to paying did he suddenly find his voice and a modicum of civility, presumably with a tip in mind. This may all have been a consequence of the fact that there was a guy in the corner by the kitchen, who I would guess was the owner, who appeared to have everyone working there on edge, openly criticising and chastising the staff and generally making no effort to hide his dissatisfaction with something - presumably them and the way they were operating. Frankly he just came across as a douche, trying to be Gordon Ramsay or something, and I am sure other diners must also have noticed his behaviour too. Whoever he was the way he acted certainly did the restaurant no favours. That all said, the pizza was actually pretty decent and as I say the place seemed really nice, so on another day it might well be excellent, but...
Read moreI recently discovered Lupo Pizzeria that left an indelible mark with its warm hospitality and delectable cuisine. Despite not having a reservation, the staff welcomed us with genuine warmth, turning a spontaneous visit into a memorable dining experience. The restaurant's ambiance and friendly atmosphere set the stage for a great evening.
The culinary journey began with a variety of appetizers, with the Burrata salad stealing the spotlight. While the pizzas may not claim the title of "the best," they certainly earned their place among the very good, boasting a perfect crust and a diverse selection of toppings to suit every taste.
A surprising star emerged in the form of a sandwich that surpassed all expectations, showcasing the chef's creativity and culinary prowess. Throughout the meal, the staff's attentiveness and commitment to ensuring a seamless dining experience further elevated the evening.
In conclusion, this gem is not just a haven for delicious fare but also a testament to exceptional hospitality. Whether you're a local or a passing traveler, the combination of warm welcomes and scrumptious offerings makes this restaurant a must-visit.
Only suggestion is to add gluten free crust options so everyone can enjoy the...
Read moreMe and my sister never went to this restaurant and decided to try and the hostess was really welcoming and kind. All was well until we got our server he was a total jerk he doesn’t greet us and the first thing he says is, tap water. He doesn’t ask if you want tap water or can I get you tap water . It only got worse from there he brings the sparkling water and slams it down. Then, he brings our order out and literally never came back to our table ever again. We had to ask the next tables waiter for Sprite and then had to flag someone down to bring us a to go box and our check. This server is the Italian guy with short hair and light brown hair and I think he works as the bar tender as well. I truly don’t understand why we were treated this way, we were never rude or demanding towards anyone. I could be totally wrong but I felt discriminated by this server and he thought we weren’t worthy of serving or something based on our ethnicity. This is the worst server I’ve ever experienced and in a city like DC with so many other ethnicities I can’t understand why this server works in a city with so much diversity and thinks he can...
