Where do I start? I went to McDonalds an hour ago and was told that the system was down and they weren't taking any orders. I thought, ok then went to the next closest McDonalds on New York avenue I was told we only have fries and chicken nuggets, I couldn't believe my luck but after working 15 hours my husband and I are starving and exhausted and just need food before going to sleep so we drive to another McDonalds on New York and Bladensburg rd where we are told on speaker that it's cash only. Thankful for at least the option of food we fortunately realize there is 20.00 in cash so we can finally eat but Nooooo the person never returned to take our order. I rarely post negative experiences because any one can have a bad experience or two but 3 in a row almost two hours of going in circles and returning to the McDonalds that originally said 30 min until able to order and getting the same message we arrive at the McDonalds on New Hampshire ave where the automated speaker asks if we would like to try a new coffee and we were able to order breakfast. McDonalds has changed so much and this experience has really made it a last resort. I've had enough of the old dried bread, mini burgers, big macs that are mostly lettuce, miniature fish sandwiches to name a few of the down grades. I certainly hope that this breakfast is at least palatable. One more thing, the franchise information and corporate phone numbers were not present in the windows so I couldn't make anyone aware of the issue. Here we sit in drive thru still hoping and waiting. One issue so far is that we are at the window and the car behind us has been served and is honking for us to move along. If we do we have to start over behind several waiting cars. Wow! I would never risk complaining over fear that our food might take longer. Update: we have food and the cashier was polite and friendly. The sausage and egg biscuits have no eggs. The sausage my muffins with egg seem fine. The orange juice is orange and I'm not sure of the big breakfast yet because we are giving up and going home for a few hours of rest and back to work shaking our heads. This is pathetic but we are thankful...
Read moreI have been going to mcdonalds my whole life but never have I been so frustrated and honestly thinking about just never going to mcdonalds again after these experiences. I work close to the mcdonalds on 424 rhode island avenue. I always start my shift with a coffee or beverage from mcdonalds, later returning for a meal. Seems like out of nowhere the doors to inside began locking at 9pm. Mcdonalds was a everyday thing for me until now. I was forced to order my food outside window yelling at a window in the cold. I paid at the window letting all who are watching both standing outside and in cars in drivethrough what I had in my wallet, I felt unsafe. Not to mention the amount of time I had to wait for my food. The overnight manager I believe her name is Panole. a Spanish women was very dismissive and quick to close the window while i was asking questions, just leaving me out in the cold. She refused to give me her bosses name, or any information regarding how she can be held accountable. I don't think anything I did called for her reaction or lack of concern. I give my experience a negative 2. my last and final experience which led me to just not going to mcdonalds anymore was I arrived to the mcdonalds 7 mins prior to them "locking" the doors to find that the doors were already locked. A customer leaving out let me in only for the same manager to tell me that they are closed and I have to leave. Paying customers deserve more! especially with all the development going on in the community, its nothing to just give my money to a better establishment, that at least respects me enough to allow me to order...
Read moreI was in the area picking something up and I stopped in because I was hungry. Number one its was lunch time so they were busy. I asked the young lady that was helping with the kiosk if she could let the kitchen know that I wanted my nuggets fresh (not cold and reheated ) and fries fresh too. I let her know I would wait for it because I understood it would take a bit longer . I saw her make a note on the ticket and tell the kitchen and when I got my food ... it was cold . So I gave them back to her and she personally made sure that my food was fresh fresh. Her name was NARDIA and she knows what good customer service is. She is the only reason I will come back and frankly the only friendly face I saw and interacted with at this establishment.the 4th star of this review is solely influenced by her . Period . Of course this McDonald's is nicknamed the "trap house " because of the homeless people and ransoms hanging around all over the place but she reminded me that not everyone is the same that works here . I kept missing stuff but she made it her personal duty tonmake sure I had everything I needed. Thanks !!!! One of the best customer service examples I've seen so far and puts all other McDonald's workers to shame that I have ever interacted with ..... ever . Thanks Nardia keep smiling!!!! Hopefully I'll see you next time and if I don't then i know you'll be somewhere else that better utilizes...
