Was out exploring Georgetown for the day and stumbled upon Mr. Smith's of Georgetown because I was starving. The establishment has a homie feel to it and guests can either dine inside, enjoy the weather outside, or even eat upstairs. I read somewhere that on certain days they have someone playing the piano while guests dine/watch/listen.
Service was pretty decent. I was a bit confused though because while I did have a server who took my drink and food orders, the host (I believe) was the one to give/collect my bill/tip... Not too sure if there's tip pool that gets divided at the end of the shift, but it threw me off a bit. Not a big deal though because the host was very kind and polite and I really appreciated that.
Now on to the food/drinks. I really wanted to get a burger but I decided to try out the Cuban sandwich with fries. I'm glad I did because the sandwich was delicious. Just the right toasty outside and hot melty cheese and moist flavorful pulled pork and ham on the inside. The fries were a nice compliment as well. I did try out a happy hour margarita and a pecan pie for dessert but they both played second fiddle to the Cuban. If I visit Georgetown again, I'll make sure to come back for that...
Read moreThe service has been on a steady decline for a while. My first time there I thought I was in Heaven. I loved everything. I would even bring guests from out of town. This place used to be listed as Black owned on the Uber Eats app, so I was excited to support the business. Well today was the last straw. Not only was my food HORRIBLE, fries were still frozen, but the manager said to me he was going to adjust my price because he could. I have never experienced such poor customer service. I spent probably $200 a month, and he just lost a consistent customer over $2 and a poor attitude.
Also, I look up the business, and it’s not in fact Black owned. Just deceptive all the way around.
I can’t tolerate hot or miss with the quality of food or dealing with a rude owner who clearly doesn’t respect...
Read moreI walked in with my niece and kids to order food to go to reheat later at the hotel for dinner. We are visiting from Florida. I met the owners and had the opportunity to speak to Kyle for a bit. Hope I got his name right. Anyways, our food was delicious!!! Probably the best we’ve had since arriving here. I ordered salmon and penne pasta with marinara sauce. Also, ribeye steak with rice and broccoli. You know if it was delicious eaten later then it could only be even more delicious eaten at the restaurant. The owners are so kind and friendly, it makes one happy to support their business. God bless and wishing you much future success. Can’t wait for my sis to try you out on her visit!...
