Pure Lounge truly lives up to its name—pure excitement, pure energy, and pure euphoria! I went there on a Thursday night, and it was an unforgettable experience from start to finish. The moment we walked in, the atmosphere was electric. The DJ had the whole place dancing, spinning tracks that perfectly matched the vibe of the night, and kept the energy high. It was one of those nights where you couldn't help but feel the rhythm pull you in. The drinks were expertly crafted, hitting the spot with every sip, and the hookah? Absolutely top-notch. It added a smooth, flavorful touch to the evening, making the whole experience even more enjoyable. We didn’t even make it upstairs this time, but judging from the downstairs vibes, that’s definitely on the list for my next visit. One thing I really appreciated was how helpful the bartender was. He broke down the drink pricing, which ranged from $14 for rail drinks to around $18 for premium ones like Jameson & ginger ale, with everything reflecting the current prices post-COVID. They even had this fun option where you could get a framed photo of your crew for $20—a cool little keepsake to commemorate the night. The music was another highlight for me. Hearing Talib Kweli in a set? That's rare these days, but the DJ was spot-on all night, mixing everything from classic hip-hop to current hits. It was clear that this place knows how to keep the crowd engaged and moving. And once you’ve had your fill of Pure Lounge's high-energy vibe, you might want to take the fun home and wind down in style. That’s where Pull Up DC comes in. Whether you're still buzzing from the night or just looking to relax, they’ve got some amazing cannabis strains to keep the good times rolling, including their standout Animal Crackers strain. Trust me, it’s the perfect way to cap off an unforgettable night out. I’m already planning my next visit to Pure Lounge—this place is a must for anyone in DC looking to have an...
Read moreWas planning to spend the night here cuz it was promising but decided to do a bar crawl instead after our experience with the female bartender. We arrived around 9, to really enjoy the night and have a section to lounge as the night went on. There seemed to be just regulars there, about 2 or 3 because it was early.
The decor was nice and the music selection made us feel like we were in Brooklyn, dancehall, reggae type of music. But once we decided to have drinks, everything went downhill. The bartender was not a person for customer service and easily irritated. From my oberservation she did have some hookah on her shift. I would not be surpirsed if she had a drink a two. (What resturant/lounge/bar worker doesn't?) The problem was really the customer service from her. She was easily bothered. Irritated because newcomer's didnt know the $5 shots on the menu were only for friday. (why did yall give a menu then?) Caused a whole scene when we asked for a refund for drinks, because my bf ordered the wrong liquor after the mix up and I have food allergies. I only drink liquor I know wont give me hives. She literally yelled were we serious when he asked for a refund. Yelled at what person is allergic to alochol and had everyone looking at us. It didnt help that the music stopped, and she yelled for her boss. Had the security guard roll up on us thinking we were starting a fight. She did clear up that he wasn't needed for us, but the whole scene was a lot.
The manager was cool about the whole thing, but her customer service was the deciding factor in us leaving and bar hopping for the rest of the night. We went from vibin with securtiy guard upon entry, okay decor, great music selection, conversation that made me and bf say; "wow this is our vibe, reminds us of nyc karma (pre covid) to wow, let's leave.
I dont think we will ever come here again although it seemed like our vibe when were...
Read moreThe place was a nice little intimate spot, got there during the happy hour specials ( which did not include chicken as advertised on the site).
The place started picking up around 10pm once the DJ got in his booth . I was a little confused because it's supposed to r&b Wednesdays but yet he played rap and reggae. Don't get me wrong he did play some r&b.
Then some guy got on the mic and was talking about the crowd, I guess trying to get it hyped but he used an excessive amount of curse words for me and when he was rapping the songs we included the curse words.
For me, this was my first time there abs me and my girlfriend went there for r&b music and food, which we really didn't get and it was quite disturbing.
Finally, the TAB comes. When we first arrived the waitress said she just needs to hold a cc on file and when we were ready to cash out she'd bring us the bill and we can pay how we like but she was not to charge the card, in fact I planned to pay in cash.
We ordered 4 patron shots and 1 cirock shot at $5/EA ($25) and 1 hookah at ($15) and 1 mixed drink. By bill was almost $80.
First issue was she charged my card which she was not to do, second she's just bought the part for me to sign which I refused.
Finally, she gave a breakdown, where she added another drink but they agreed to remove it.
Not only that, but that include an almost $12 gratuity. She was a sweet girl but she did absolutely nothing for $12.
She said they had no drink menus, I've never seen that at a bar but whatever. It would be nice to have a menu that way ppl can know y'all gonna steal their money .
Again, could've been a nice spot but I believe I was deceived and stolen from.
So, I don't believe I would be patronizing this establishment again
Tho I am curious about what if any type of response I'd get from mgmt.
Thank you...
