Delicious. Seriously delicious. Chicken biryani and tandoori naan. Price is incredible for the enormous portion and that flavor— wow. Spice is flavorful, little touch of heat. Like a little love tap for your mouth, nothing over the top. Much more mild than a standard “buffalo wing” type heat if you need a common point of reference. As soon as I opened the box and could smell it I was totally sold before even taking a bite. Got takeout (obviously from picture) and the place is totally a little dive but so worth it if you’re wanting some Indian/Pakistani. Rating it 5 for atmosphere even though I wouldn’t dine in as a destination because from the first second you see it, it just oozes authenticity and they have very courteous staff. Looks like they offer a cash only daily special too—today the options were butter chicken or a vegetarian option.

What a disappointment. I ordered from Sacrificial Lamb through Eat24. The food was barely warm. It’s 4 minutes by car or 3 minutes by bike from the restaurant to the hotel I was at. I really like Indian Butter Chicken but not from this restaurant. The Butter Chicken from Sacrificial Lamb had no taste to it. It looked the right color, I don’t know where the flavor was hiding. The texture was right for chicken but it was horribly bland. I ordered Garlic Naan and Kashmiri Naan, both room temperature and lacking taste. The real insult was the $2.95 Rass Malai. I thought it was a small cup with some type of condiments at first. It was a portion for a Hobbit with a gastric bypass, it was gone in two wanting bites. I wouldn’t recommend eating at this restaurant. This is probably my most negative review on Yelp.

hought this would be a quick in and out order, and we ordered 20 minutes ahead of time, and when I got there to pick it up, they hadn't even started the order even though I arrived at the specified pickup time. That being said we ordered 2 kabobs, the chicken/lamb and the fish kabob. The fish kabob was a grilled salmon, which was pretty good taste wise, but it was pretty dry. The chicken and lamb were also pretty dry, but drenched in sauce it was pretty good. The naan bread was soggy. I was hoping for more crunch especially since they advertise as the best naan in the DMV. The chick pea soup was delicious though!! Good for something quick in the area, but I'd avoid the kabobs, I would try the currys next time.

The food was decent, but it doesn't even begin to outweigh the two hour wait and the horrible customer service. I called my order in at 8:38pm with someone who informed me that my single question about a side was unimportant because he was in a rush without answering my single question. Yet, I still placed an order for two entrees. After an hour and 45 minutes I called for an update/cancel of my order. I was told the delivery guy was 5 minutes away. 7 minutes later I called back to cancel my order and after a couple minutes on the phone the delivery guy showed up. I accepted the delivery. When I got inside it was lukewarm, if not colder than room temperature, and it had to be microwaved to be eaten. I live within a couple blocks of the restaurant. The food should not need microwaving, and should not take two hours to arrive. I enjoyed the decent food (I've had similar quality food from trader Joe's frozen foods without the ridiculous wait) but the overall experience was not worth the $30 it cost. I will never order from them again, and I will consider any other restaurant a better option than them. I want to make it clear because when I read some reviews of businesses, some seem to be outliers or almost obsessive reviews and indicative of a potentially unhinged reviewer. I am not a chronic reviewer nor a critical customer. Just treat me decent and give me decent product and service, and I will happily enjoy the decent experience. This interaction was so thoroughly negative, I felt the need to review the business. Please, do yourself a favor and enjoy food...

It WAS 5 stars but today's chef deserved only 1 star. The owner is really nice and customer service oriented so when I called months ago to ask if I could request dishes to be MILD, he said "of course, just write it down on your order." So Sacrificial Lamb became my #1 restaurant. For about 1 year, I have been ordering the same dishes and sometimes introducing a new one, but after speaking to the owner to ask if a MILD version could be ordered. His answer was always the same and the food was AMAZING. I also dislike salads so I always asked for "no salad." Today, I got a heaping salad on top of my chicken Biryani. As always, I requested it mild, but it was spicy. There were 2 other dishes that I requested (as before), to be mild but they were not. When I called the restaurant to ask them to replace the items (I always place my order the day before), the "chef" was very rude and telling me that it was MY fault because I ordered the wrong dishes. There are only 5 chicken dishes that I always order and I always order them mild (except for the butter chicken and the korma which are already mild). I told the chef that I always order mild and that I always write it on my order. He became even more rude, interrupting me and when I asked for the owner, he said that he wasn't there today. I asked him to replace the spicy dishes and he became even more irate. I told him that I would have to call Grub Hub then so he responded: "do...

Before trying Sacrificial Lamb, I recall walking past the restaurant many times while they had a banner up touting their naan as the best in the city. Hard to believe, given the size of the place, and abundance of quality Indian cuisine in the DMV. Over a period of several years and many dishes, well beyond the best Naan, I’m a believer. They have all the essential dishes you’d expect and they’re tasty but the curry dishes are exceptional. Whoever is making the sauces has serious skills. Mackni, Korma, masala, vindaloo, all delicious with abundant portions and quality components. Rich flavorful sauces that don’t separate and seasoning that is layered and surprising. Excellent vegetarian dishes too. Aloo gobi was a favorite. Even this basic dish had a bit of a sauce to it. They also catered to my dietary restrictions without issue. One recommendation— order later in the day. It seems the sauces and seasonings only get more enjoyable as the day evolves. Take out is done well, with sizable portions and seemingly no lost quality. Don’t miss the naan. It’s extraordinary and was always delivered warm. They also do naan wraps which are exceptional late night. Dip a wrap in the Mackni sauce, so decadent. I recently moved and have not been able to replace...
