Tacos, Tequila and Gangsta Rap. Now, with the right audience, that could be a HIT! But have you ever thought to yourself, “I can’t WAIT to leave here so I can write a review about this”? Yeah, me neither, until I ate brunch here. So to start, they are playing gangsta rap dropping every single N-word in every single song. What made it the most awkward is that I was the only non-Caucasian until I settled my check. The place was relatively empty this time. Usually it is so busy! Their food menu for happy hour is delicious… brunch still deciding.
First of all when I go to have Mexican food I would expect some sort of vibe that is congruent with the cuisine and theme but it was like they just absolutely could not read the room with regards to what was happening and that was the most frustrating about the experience. The crowd seems to be college aged Caucasian people. I ordered the Huevos Rancheros which was a 3.4 out of 5. Not too bad. It was just listening to Tupac, Redman, Lil Troy (Be a Baller), Dr. Dre and Snoop… that killed the vibe. Whatever happened to Kumbia, Top 100, central or South American music? Anyways, typically you should be prepared to stand outside for 40+ mins. the drinks are good and food is good but they are off with the experience so for that I need to give it 1.5-2 stars because it definitely took away. But...
Read moreI came here on cinco de mayo and I thought it was going to be a great experience considering the fact I have been here numerous times but absolutely not. Let’s start with the fact a wooden plank fell from the bar and landed straight on my arm….. no consideration until I told a manager brought me ice and that was it. The bar downstairs was leaking bar was wet and honestly the health department should’ve been called. But the best part is I spoke to to the manager about the wooden plank falling on my arm and then on top of that being ignored by the bartender he agreed to pay for our food. Once I received my check at the end of the evening which was $20 and some change (at this point they gave me my card back earlier) when I came back to the bar to pay she handed me 2 other checks which I was confused by and clearly she was as as well because the communication was odd poor. Long story short there was an item on the bill that was not ours and the tall bald white manager said no worries you don’t have to pay I tried to clarify and told him I was charged for three other bills and I was told that the charges wouldn’t hit my account. It is now almost 1 week later and not have I been charged for 1 transactions I have been charged for 4 total transactions. I’m currently in the process of getting me an ant family life back....
Read moreI went here with 3 friends b/c someone recommended this place as a good tequila with good happy hour deals.
Food was great, Nicole & Missy was our bartenders and they were lovely attentive and made good drinks.
Lots of street parking also public parking is available.
We saw the manager behind the bar and took the opportunity to give constructive feedback about the poor quality of the pineapple juice.
He gave an empty stared and body language said he did not want to hear what I was saying. Followed by his exact words “let’s move pass the pineapple juice because that’s what we have what can I do for you now?” No empathy or emotion why are you working with people Joel I think he said his name was don’t remember b/c he was just rude so I don’t want to focus on him.
We won’t be back b/c they are way too many other options around.
Outside of that, why the heck was my card charged when I paid cash? I made that clear I was paying cash when I gave my card to keep our tab open.
Why was my card charged? Now I have 2 reasons to not visit this establishment or recommend to my friend’s & family.
Updates: Management calls me to tell me their establishment is cashless and it turns out Missy and/or Nicole stole my cash and they will be refunding my card. So if you’re going here be careful of the sticky...
