Alright folks, gather around for a culinary tour de force in the heart of Puyallup. We're talking about Takara Teriyaki, a place so good it makes you question every other teriyaki joint you've ever visited. Imagine beef teriyaki so perfectly seasoned it makes the bourgeoisie's taste in food look like child's play. This is where the proletariat meets their meaty utopia.
The staff? Absolute sweethearts. They're the kind of people who restore your faith in humanity just by passing you a plate of deliciousness. It's like they sprinkle a bit of kindness on every dish, and let me tell you, it's the best seasoning. And speed? Usain Bolt's got nothing on these guys. They whip up dishes faster than a politician dodges a straightforward question.
Let's talk cleanliness. This place is so spotless, you could eat your beef teriyaki off the floor. Not that you would, because, you know, they have tables. But still, it's nice to know you could. And the price? It’s like finding a treasure chest in your backyard. You get top-notch food without having to sell a kidney.
So, here’s my plea: go to Takara Teriyaki. Eat like the kings and queens of Puyallup. And for the love of all that is good, tip these wonderful people. Tip them like it's the last thing you'll do. Let's show them that we appreciate more than just their beef teriyaki – we appreciate their existence. Because in a world full of overpriced, underwhelming eateries, Takara Teriyaki is a beacon of hope, a bastion of flavor, and a testament to what...
Read moreUpdated: beef teriyaki is excellent. Very tender cut. Chicken teriyaki also yummy. I hope the owner sees this review so I can go back and try the fried rice soon ——— TL;DR Don’t expect customization of your dish if you have an allergy.
My family loves teriyaki. We’ve tried all places on South Hill except for this one. This one we never tried, so I figured today was the day to try something new. I called in the order for pick up just now (15 minutes ago). It was going to be 2 teriyakis and a veggie fried rice with no egg. They quickly refused to make the fried rice without eggs stating that that’s how fried rice is made. Of course it is. I know. I’m not trying to change the recipe of a cultural food. However, I have a decent egg allergy which I explained. Cross contamination is not a concern however, direct ingestion definitely is. This is the first place I’ve ever been where they refused to make the dish without egg.
For example, I absolutely love bibimbap. The first place I visited that I requested it not have egg (a teriyaki store on Canyon Rd) I got a funny look, understandably so. But of course once I explained that I’m allergic, they understood. Let’s be clear. I love eggs!! All my life. I’ve eaten eggs in just about every way: boiled, deviled, scrambled, omelette. But in recent years, I just can’t have it.
At any rate, I reduced my order to beef teriyaki and chicken teriyaki. I’ll update this review later to comment on food quality and freshness once I pick...
Read moreI got the broccoli beef, chicken teriyaki combo and it was so good. The broccoli beef had an assortment of fresh vegetables (which attracted me to it) and the beef was very soft and had a great taste (I will never go to Panda Express again). The vegetables had that texture of freshness and not mushy. The teriyaki chicken was really good. It came with a very fresh salad but I prefer heavy dressing so the parts with a lot of dressing was really good. I chose to eat the salad with bites of my other food. The portions were very large and my leftovers barely fit in the to go box. I would eat here all the time if they were closer to my house. The food was so good I look forward to trying more items on the menu. The atmosphere was ok enough that I was comfortable staying and eating (it was clean, small, quaint). The young woman at the counter was sincerely friendly which made it an even more comfortable experience (she even shared where she got her eyeshadow which was flawless and went with her very clean...
