While on a lunch crawl of new restaurants along H Street NE, my friend and I stopped into this tiny sushi spot in the old DC Harvest space run by a husband-wife team. Since we were the only ones there, serve was quick. Within minutes, we had their "Sushi Plate B" which comes with miso soup, a small salad, seven kinds of sushi, and spicy tuna. Everything was fine, but the spicy tuna stood out as full of flavor.

So nice we came here twice (in two weeks). Best sushi experience I’ve had in DC. If you’re looking for a place that prioritizes the freshest fish while keeping reasonable prices, you’ve come to the right place. The chef has been making sushi for 30+ years, so ask for suggestions and you won’t be disappointed. A welcomed addition to the H st neighborhood. Currently BYOB but that will change soon. Enjoy!

Fantastic Sushi & Friendly Service – Highly Recommended! This new sushi spot truly impressed us! The sushi was incredibly fresh, and the staff was warm and welcoming throughout our visit. It’s a great place to enjoy a casual meal or a night out. Parking Tip: We parked at Whole Foods right across the street. If you spend over $10 there, you get 1.5 hours of free parking—super convenient!

Stopped in for lunch with my current wife, my son, and his current girlfriend, expecting a casual sushi meal. Instead, we somehow had a spiritual experience involving California Rolls and raw fish. Every bite made us quieter, like we were all collectively processing how good it was. Even my son, who usually thinks ketchup counts as a sauce was impressed.

The service was friendly without being over-the-top, and the spicy California roll, which I generally find to be as basic as a new TS album, was amazing. My wife said, “We’re definitely coming back,” which, in our house, is basically a Michelin star.

If you’re in DC and you don’t eat here, I...

I got the sashimi deluxe to go. Immediately when I opened the container it smelled funky. The first few pieces were fine then I bit into the white tuna and nearly vomited. I smelled it and it was obviously bad. There was another fish on my plate that also was going bad. $40 and 1/3 of the meal was spoiled. I ended up only being able to stomach half.

I just moved around the corner and eat sushi once or twice a week but there's not a chance I'll be back here. There's no way the chefs didn't smell that and they still put it in my to-go box....
