Here’s the review with the addition about Lazizi’s first non-alcoholic bar and the quality of their drinks:

Lazizi Restaurant - A Delightful Culinary Experience in Washington DC

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Lazizi Restaurant in Washington, DC, and it was an exceptional experience. As the first Pakistani fine dining restaurant in the area, Lazizi brings a refreshing and authentic culinary touch to the city’s vibrant food scene. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm and welcoming ambiance that made me feel at home. The modern yet cozy décor perfectly complements the inviting atmosphere.

One of the standout features at Lazizi is their unique non-alcoholic bar, the first of its kind in the area. The bar offers an impressive selection of creative, refreshing mocktails and beverages that complement the rich flavors of their cuisine perfectly. The drinks are not only beautifully presented but also delicious and thoughtfully crafted, making them a fantastic addition to the dining experience.

The menu at Lazizi offers an impressive variety of authentic Pakistani dishes, showcasing the rich heritage and bold flavors of this cuisine. I was particularly impressed by the freshness of the ingredients and the richness of the flavors in every dish. The lamb kebabs were perfectly tender and seasoned to perfection, and the hummus was incredibly smooth and flavorful. Each bite was a delightful journey through the best of Pakistani and Mediterranean fusion cuisine.

The service was impeccable—attentive yet not overbearing, with friendly staff who were more than happy to make recommendations. They truly made the dining experience feel personal and enjoyable.

Overall, Lazizi Restaurant is a must-visit for anyone looking for an authentic and memorable Pakistani fine dining experience in DC. Whether you’re a fan of Pakistani flavors, unique non-alcoholic drinks, or simply looking to try something new, Lazizi will not disappoint.

This version highlights the non-alcoholic bar and its contribution to the...

I've found my new favorite Pakistani restaurant in DC! Lazizi Halal Cuisine isn't just another dining spot - it's a place where exceptional food meets genuine hospitality.

The best part? Unlike typical Pakistani cuisine that often leaves you feeling overly full, Lazizi's dishes were remarkably light and well-balanced. All the rich flavors without the heaviness - a refreshing change that makes it perfect for any occasion.

The service here deserves special recognition. During my visit, I tried leaving an extra tip and was touched when they politely declined, mentioning it was Iftar time. This kind of authentic, principled service is increasingly rare and made a lasting impression on me. The staff clearly takes pride in the details, from food presentation to ensuring guests feel welcomed.

Their chicken biryani was absolutely phenomenal - aromatic, perfectly spiced, and full of flavor. The goat Karahi was a standout dish with a rich, complex gravy that showcases authentic Pakistani cooking. For dessert, the kheer had that elusive perfect balance of sweetness that's so hard to get right.

What truly elevates Lazizi is their impressive mocktail bar. The drinks were creative and delicious, offering that special "night out" feeling. The thoughtfully designed space with its beautiful decor creates an inviting atmosphere, though they could enhance the experience with better speaker placement for music throughout the restaurant.

After such an incredible experience with both the food and service, I can confidently say they've earned a forever customer in me. If you're looking for Pakistani cuisine that delivers on all fronts, Lazizi is a must-visit!

TLDR: Exceptional Pakistani food that's flavorful without the typical heaviness. Outstanding service, perfect balance in their biryani, karahi, and kheer. Great mocktails and beautiful ambiance. Found my...

this restaurant is very well decorated and the ambience is really nice! the food was decent too; my family ordered the malai chicken wraps, chicken karhai, and channa. they were out of the chicken tikka wraps and chapli kabobs unfortunately, but iA we are hoping to go back sometime and try those!

they also had an extensive drink menu with various flavored drinks, i don’t remember what my mom had ordered but it was very minty.

the malai chicken wraps were really good, and served with some type of chutney and yogurt sauce. my brother and i really enjoyed those. the chicken karhai was more like chicken salaan and we felt like it was lacking a bit in the flavor department. i think they have potential to make it better though. lastly, the channa were okay. we also found those to be lacking in flavor and were expecting more of a lahori channa flavor, it was more on the bland side. my last point is that i felt like the portion sizes were a little on the smaller end for the prices, but this is also in dc so that’s something to keep in mind.

aside from that, we found parking right by location. as soon as we entered, we were greeted asap and were seated right away. the restaurant had lots of space for seating, and there were several other patrons in the space. the staff was super friendly and helped up pick items from the menu, they also checked on us frequently to make sure we were okay and if we needed anything!

i really think this place is great for dining in, and fancy drinks! they definitely could use some minor tweaks on the food, but i would still recommend it and would very likely go back...

First time at Lazizi and safe to say I will not be coming back in person (I may get takeout). It was advertised as “a fine dining experience” but it was far from it. The service (and lack of service) was really slow, it took roughly 30-35 minutes to get our 2 pretty average mocktails, but that is not to discredit the food. I had the Tandoori Chicken which was excellent. The chicken was juicy and well marinated and spiced. Back to the service, the server seemed to be the only one serving all of the tables in the restaurant, and as a server myself, this is a result of poor management. Because of this, the server can only say so much to the customers, and made it feel like more of a transactional interaction. I’m not discrediting the server personally, but if there were a couple more servers on the floor, things would go a lot faster and also the server would actually be able to make it feel not transactional but more conversational, and letting us know the status of the drinks and the food while we wait. Also, our food came at different times, and some communication would have been nice. We also never got our water refilled. Overall, I would not recommend dining in person, but takeout is probably good. Service was super slow and not really much serving going on. I think 3 stars is quite generous on my end, and I hope this was just a bad day for service and this isn’t how the place is normally ran. Definitely not fine dining, but good eats.

I really wanted to like this place. The ambiance is nice and staff was trying but they were extremely flustered and mismanaged. The nice young lady in the front was managing seating, taking orders and serving drinks. But they need to hire more staff to do those tasks. The man who took our order didn’t seem to know the answer to simple questions we had about the menu. He brought our appetizers but not our drinks. We were never given water; when we asked for it; we were given a jug of water but no cups. Our main dishes came out separately but still no drinks. Another server came to ask what our drinks were because the original server forgot. For a fine dining restaurant, I was not expecting to be served sauces in plastic to-go containers. At the end we asked for the dessert menu, the server laughed and said oh we don’t have much it’s just 3 things and brushed us off. I think they were just trying to get us to leave because there was a crowd at the door waiting to be seated. Not very pleasant. The food was good but average. Mocktails were good but very pricey. There is no place to wait for a table. There are people crowded in the front staring at others while they eat. There is a lot of room for improvement. I hope management takes this and others’ constructive criticism into note and improve their service.
