This place has not been on the market very long and I actually used to work in the area so I'm very familiar I also love Korean food and I have to stay at that food was very well cut the placement was nice the settings in the restaurant are very very open more than enough for social distancing the staff care enough to take a video of us while we were eating. This video was not an invasion of privacy as we were the first customer are the night and they had just recently opened so they wanted to post up that people were here in that they were open I think they did a good job in putting us on their social media and allowing our privacy to stay intact because I did not at any point in the dinner notice that I was being recorded. I did not mind i assure you. The staff was super courteous and the only thing I did notice is that I did not see a male working there at all. They not only allowed us to eat for the amount of time that we had booked but even gave us a small amount of extra time and let us know that once our time was up that we had to make sure that we wrapped everything up but if there were no customers that we're coming in to take our table we were allowed to sit there and finish our food which is a huge convenience because they serve quite a lot of it. The Korean BBQ did not produce a whole lot of smoke and was it up very high the stoves are self-starting so you do not have to ask for help if you already know what you're doing with the cell starting stove which allows you to freely cook as you want to at your table with all of your toppings they're just like any other Korean BBQ and I have to give them a compliment for that. They were even extremely courteous and quick to give us more food even though the time that we had left was very short we were allowed to continue eating and when we were done and full we gave them everything that they had offered us with no problem and no pushback whatsoever. The music was very pleasant they were playing Korean pop bands as well as I'm sure they could have taken song request if anyone had actually got enough to say anything once we've gotten in there in about 30 minutes before they even started having a high frequency of customer but once they had a high frequency of customers they were in business. I do believe that the tables can be taken up by both reservation and walk in but the most that I've seen because of the pandemic is that you have to make an appointment so if you do not have an appointment you may not be allowed to walk in during the pandemic as for when the pandemic lifts I'm not so...
Read moreI’ve been to multiple locations based on various places I’ve lived in the DMV area, and each one has been great. I came here when I needed a last minute dinner, and just like all the other locations, the employees are chill, the food is fresh and delicious, and there are plenty of options from the build your own bowl, ordering ones they already have on their menu, or even their version of a burrito made with seaweed instead of a tortilla.
A big plus for me is that everything is gluten free. As some with celiac disease, and has very violent and severe reactions from the smallest amount of cross contamination, places like SEOULSPICE is a gem. I’ve only been able to find locations in the DMV area, so I certainly don’t take it for granted. It is far more safe for me to eat here, and if you like the build your own bowl experience and are willing to try something new, I’d say it is significantly better than Chipotle.
If you are vegetarian, I would ask questions about how they prepare their tofu (whether or not it is prepared separately from the meat protein options). They have 7 veggie options (you can choose as many as you want) but I would check their online menu to make sure you like the options they have. They also have toppings that are all vegetarian, and they have add-ons, one of which is avocado if you like it or want an add-on.
There are more options with drinks and even individually packaged gluten free cookies (at least at all the locations I’ve been to)
It’s safe to say this...
Read moreI really do love the food here, but every time I go I feel uneasy ordering because the staff behind the counter make me uncomfortable. Once the girl behind the counter told the girl in front of me that a Korrito takes longer to make, so she asked me what I was having. When I said Korrito, she rolled her eyes at me like I was inconveniencing her.
Then on another occasion I ordered a Korrito and the two girls behind the counter stopped dead in their tracks, looked at each other like I just said something insane and they started laughing and making jokes around the wall where I couldn't see them. The only thing I've said in these instances is "can I please have a Korrito". Also I'm definitely not saying it weird or wrong even tho that wouldn't warrant being laughed at.
I'm actually considering only ordering online from now on because it's so bizarre and honestly slightly humiliating. I've never experienced this at chipotle where there is almost always a line twice as long as Seoul Spice. There's really no need for the attitude, especially for an item that is legit 1 of only 3 things...
