I looked at the reviews before coming. Over 4 stars, sounded pretty good?
I love Greek food and have tried it in so many different restaurants in the US and in Europe.
Oh. I ignore the reason why people give 5starts, but for me, it is 0 star if possible.
I "think" that the moussaka was possibly frozen and thaw before serve: tomato sauce and beef were dry and tasteless, the bechamel and the eggplants were also tasteless. ( And no point to mention the bread that came with)
Lentils soup: so watery, lentils not cooked to their perfection.
Hummus : seriously? Real hummus are made with Tahini, lemon juice, garlic and the most important OLIVE OIL. Sorry, mixing canned chickpeas doesn't make it hummus. (Not important but still: serving it on a plastic cup just makes it even cheaper)
Melitzanosalata : again, where is the OLIVE OIL ? One of the most important ingredients in Greek food.
Grilled meats : cold already when it arrived on the table. Kefta was raw inside and over cooked outside. ( Possibly cooked in advance to save time, which is not a problem, but at least cook it probably!)
Except the location is convenient, and was a pretty well decorated restaurant, I don't see anything else.
You need to know absolutely NOTHING about Greek food to give this so call " Greek restaurant" more...
Read moreI choose the place because of its high ranking on Google map reviews. Does it worth it? Let's find out below: Food: I had beef Shish Kebab and Galaktoboureko. Shish kebab overall was not bad, the food was tasty for the hungry stomach but actually, I didn’t really like the meat. It was dry and chewy. (7/10) Galaktoboureko, now I know it’s not my favorite dessert. (1/10) Interior: Interior is Mediterranean style. Looked nice. There are plenty of plugs where you can charge your phone which is a plus. Climate was comfortable, and AC was doing a good job. Also, they have outdoor seats as well. (7/10) Restroom: It was acceptable. Desired more attention. (7/10) Service: Good, staff was friendly and the order was prepared in a reasonable time. (8/10) Prices: Acceptable, but the portion is desired to be increased. I was still hungry after Kebab, even though in general I don’t eat too much. I paid 29.7 for a lemonade, Shish Kebab, and desert. (7/10) Summary: Food is ok, but I think they have to use better quality products. Also, I noticed some minor violation in the kitchen which needs more attention. Will I return there? I might give them a second chance. Zorba’s got 6.16/10 scores from me,...
Read moreI do want to say that the menu is authentic and has lots of good Greek traditional staples and isn’t just a full menu of gyros and souvlaki but unfortunately the execution fell a bit flat. DC is expensive but for these prices, the portion sizes were quite small and especially the psaree plakee (fish plate), it was a piece of not fresh tilapia not cooked well in wine as described but seemed to be boiled and had some tomato sauce put on top. Had to douse it in hot sauce to eat it and it was a small portion. Then the tzatziki that came with the chicken skewer plate had the consistency of ranch dressing and was liquidy and goopy I thought they gave me ranch at first. Maybe some kind of non fat yogurt was used instead of Greek yogurt? It came in a little cup and if I wanted more they said it was $1. Also a horiatiki salad at $15 is quite steep but we wanted some veggies. The one good food item we agreed on was the bread roll… it was well baked and had texture. Besides some of the price to food quality issues, the interior is beautiful and has two floors and the...
