House Of GOATS — Restaurant in Waterbury

Considering House of Goats in New Britain on a Friday night? Don’t! This place is a glorified dive-bar/tiniest club on earth. The wait staff literally had no idea what they were doing and appeared to just want to hang out with patrons. We were being comped several drinks from a neighboring table and that’s the only reason we stuck around. We ordered 2 appetizers and were never told that our selections weren’t available. We ordered wings and they were brought to our table with no sauce, napkins, utensils, and plates! We asked our server for these basic, common sense items and she proceeded to “hang out” at a table and never brought anything else to our table of two, not even the check. The wings were great but I will never come back expecting a meal or apps. I’m befuddled and confused about these 5 star reviews. I’m a “tip no matter what service” person. The food was okay. But the place is just all types of ghetto. They charged me $20 at the door without telling me what it was for. It turned out to be for bottomless mimosas but they only had orange juice which I don't drink and no other options. So I was charged for something I ended up not drinking. Then when I ordered the Bigelow Breakfast, they only had pork bacon and no substitutes. They didn't say this or make that clear on their menu as it just says "two eggs, MEATS, potatoes" They only have ONE meat, pork, which I'm allergic to. Then when I wanted to order a starter, they refused to bring it out first saying "we can't do that. All the food comes out all at once." Which again, makes no sense. Overall, this place isn't somewhere I would ever come back to. It doesn't come off as a proper restaurant with any professional decorum or qualifications. Was hoping to get a Bigalow burger but found that they were apparently closed (?) Door locked and no answer on the phone If they’re no longer in this location need to update Google so others don’t have the same letdown experience EDIT I was astonished to see the owner’s response— something I’d not seen before. Naturally I took them up on their offer— and I was not disappointed! The burger was delicious and cooked to temperature (unlike a certain other local eatery who waaaay over cooked my ‘medium’ burger) But the food was just the icing on the cake that was the service.
