Starbeck's Smokehouse was recommended and did not disappoint! We had a great meal at Starbeck's. Our group had - The brisket sandwich, pork tenderloin sandwiches, chicken wings and I had the burnt ends sandwich. Sides- the cornbread is phenomenal, the fries are classic home-cut style - so good, The baked beans are chili-like and a bit spicy, we loved them. Their green beans and Mac& cheese were good too. The golden mashed potatoes were great also. The service was super friendly, the place is very well decorated and very clean. The only thing that I can think of that wasn't great was, my burnt ends sandwich was served cold. It had a good flavor but ... cold. Unique things- great cornbread, spicy beans w/ ground beef in them, great fries, huge chicken wings- biggest I have seen, good BBQ sauces, the pork tenderloin had a breading of panko and parmesan that was so so good. I highly recommend a visit if your looking for a great meal.

In from out of town. Menu sounded good. Did not disappoint. We ordered for curbside (which was only hiccup-at first told i could come in to get) I specifically paid extra for curbside as I was done for the day from driving and cold and windy outside. Order was only about 5 minutes past eta- no big deal. Portion sizes are very generous. Turkey sandwich moist tender and flavorful. Burnt ends were a little fatty but otherwise fantastic with or without sauce. Mac and cheese and mashed potatoes very creamy. Cornbread is very sweet and delicious (and for other people like me who don't like actual corn chunks in their cornbread-there are no chunks!) Would return for sure if in the area again. Only reason the price per person was so high is due to 2 hungry gals who overestimated how hungry they were. Leftovers for days

This is one of my favorite places to eat in Cedar Falls. I can't get enough of the Burnt End sandwich and I should start asking for more corn bread because it's so delicious. The decor is really nice too starting from the entrance. The handle on the door is charmingly huge and the vintage signs and up cycled items show how much time and love the owners spent on the restaurant. The one issue I have is the giant clown portrait on the wall. I don't know why it's there because it doesn't go with the theme. Maybe it's special to the owners, who knows, but I hate clowns so I never look on the west wall. St Patrick’s Day 2023 they offered green cornbread. So cute.

Well we have been to Starbecks at least 20 times and always have been more than satisfied with the service the cost and the quality. Today on the other hand is another story. I am a huge fan of the loaded fries and have never been disappointed with the cost the quantity that you receive and would tend to always recommend this to anybody. I order today looking at the menu and order the loaded fries which the menu price says nine dollars when I'm wrong all I am informed the price is a dollar more which kind of catches me offguard. I asked the question if the prices has changed at that time I am informed this is an old menu we're getting ready to move next month and there won't be that issue with the wrong menu pricing. I understand not a major deal simple item of an air just the comment caught me off guard because I'm still not sure what having to move into your new location Hass to do with the menu you had put out and pricing. I then go to get my to go silverware and napkins which I had to go through five or six prepackaged silverware utensils before I could find one that was actually closed and not opened which this was kind of disturbing. I received my food then proceeded to leave getting out into my vehicle I then took my food to my destinations to eat. Upon opening my to go box I find that the quantity or portion has been greatly reduced which bothered me enough to write this article with the several items that transpired. Every time I have gone to the location I've always received more than a decent quantity of food for the pricing I am finding out now that customers are going to get a surprise when they start going to the new Location on pricing quantity and quality of service they have not even left the old building and these items are very evident and at this time I don't believe I will return. One positive note from my experience today the taste of the food was still at the same...

I’m not a big bbq fan so I can only really comment on their smoked Turkey sandwich which is my favorite item to eat when it’s on special.

Regarding that menu item (which currently is a deal on Wed & Thurs where you get the sandwich, side, and drink for $9 or so) is a great value. They have some sort of other special on Mon & Tues but they don’t seem to really advertise their special so I don’t know what those are.

On the days the Turkey sandwich and side is a special, it’s s great value. I’ve probably gotten it 10 times over the past 3-4 months and it’s typically good tasting especially with their bbq sauce.

The Mac and cheese side is my favorite…compared to Famous Dave’s it’s got some zing to it but it’s not unbearable like at Dave’s. I’m also a fan of their potato salad as it’s good and creamy along with the coleslaw. Those sides are probably the best in the area. I’m not a fan of the baked beans as they’re just a little too different for my taste with lots of other stuff mixed in.

Of course the cornbread is usually the the best included perk. It’s pretty consistent and I could probably eat that all day.

The only reason for not giving it 5 stars is when the Turkey sandwich is not on special, it’s a little too pricey. The sandwich, two sides, and a drink will easily cost you $20 for one person and when two sides are included, that’s a little too much food for lunch. It would be nice if for lunch they just had a lunch menu which included one side and a drink with their popular sandwich option.

The other downside is when it’s busy, good luck finding a place to sit. I’m pretty fortunate and can just get it to go when busy and...

I decided to give it a try on Easter with my family we usually go to Cindy Lou's I regretted it the moment the food came I noticed that the fries looked very old all the food was very cold it wasn't busy I've been working in restaurants most of my life the mac and cheese was very runny the baked beans had a sour taste put the french fries were very old that was the only item that came out warm my wife tasted them and instantly said that they were stale or old I tasted them myself and I agreed old fries dropped in the fryer as a young cook I've done that before myself and regretted it but most of all when I went to talk to the front counter person about it all the cooks came toward me and denied it one of them introduce yourself as Von he was very rude and disrespectful the front counter lady was also trying to tell me that there's nothing wrong with fries and there's no reason that the food should be cold I am not delusional and I'm not lying I did not like the confrontation that the staff tried to present toward me and my family when I went back to my table they were talking of very obscene things about me and my wife overheard it the staff was very unfriendly with my first experience there I will never go there again I don't not deserve to be treated so rudely all I wanted was some fresh fries and I would have been fine but the rudeness that I experience should not have happened I was...
