Donut King — Restaurant in Watsonville

On a vacation in California and was looking for some donuts before hitting the road. I have to say, these donuts were AMAZING, the dough especially. I’m from New York, so we have a lot of amazing bakeries, especially Italian bakeries that serve donuts here, but I don’t think I’ve ever had to dough on a donut as good as I did just now today. Now, there is a bit of a language barrier if you don’t speak Spanish, but the food and kindness of the owners more than makes up for that, although I would recommend coming prepared to translate into Spanish if you have a more specific order.

I ordered two donuts and the owner threw two donut holes in with each as an added bonus. Insanely nice people and a very chill vibe. I could not recommend Donut King more....

I called ahead of time to ask if they had a custard filled doughnut to which they said yes we do. I even double checked and made sure that we were talking about the same donut and they continued to confirm that they did in fact have the custard filled/Boston cream type donut. I then drove all the way there to get said donut and they did not have it. I tried to give the benefit of the doubt and assume that they might’ve ran out but they had not. They just don’t make those donuts at all even though they said they did just to get us to come. I don’t know if they thought that once we got there, we would choose a different donut or something, but that was not the case. Left...

We visited twice around 2 weeks ago when we were in town for my Sister's wedding. Took my girls there to grab donuts and coffee and on the second day, I forgot to add sugar to my husband's coffee! Since we were staying a hotel down the street, I drove back and I asked if I could add sugar and they said yes right away. They even offered me a new cup of coffee, but it was still pretty hot, so I said no, even though they insisted! Definitely recommend and will for sure stop by when we are in...
