I never write reviews especially bad ones, but today, I've had it. I used to love coming here, no matter what you ordered it got to you in a hurry and it was always good. As of a few months ago things started going south. When I order a latte or chai tea, more often than not it tastes like warmed up milk. It takes half an hour to get a wrap when it used to take 5 minutes. And this has been happening when I'm the only one there! They've forgotten to make my order 4 separate times and 2 of those times, once again I was the only one there so I have no idea how they forgot. I usually come on my lunch break so I only have so much time to eat so that's a little annoying. And not only do they forget my order and take longer than usual, they make it wrong. If I ask for something to be taken off, it's still there. Not a huge deal but if I were doing that for dietary or allergy reasons that's pretty messed up. But today takes the cake. Not only did they forget my order and make it wrong all if this taking 30 minutes, with only one other customer there. When I get back to work to eat it, I take one bite and realize there's hair in my mouth. I look down at my sandwich and there is hair in my sandwich. Not A HAIR, but it looked like someone brushed their hair over my food and served it to me. I have never been more disgusted with a restaurant. It takes a lot to piss me off and rip a new one to the food industry because I know it can be difficult but this has been so ridiculous it's almost comical. I'm not sure if service is really that bad now, or if I pissed one of the employees off somehow and now they're trying to get rid of me. If it's the former it's a pity because it was such a good café. If it's the latter, then congrats, you won, I won't...

Being the 1st time I had visited your cafe let me begin by saying you have a quaint and delightful cafe. That said having run RiverMill Cafe in Elm Grove along with frequently visiting Le Bistro Cafe on Sunset I can assure you that I know how to make, prepare and present varied coffee drinks in ways that not only look appealing but also taste the way they ought to. Which is why it is beyond my comprehension how your staff was able to mess up a 16 ounce Iced Latte with whole milk along with 3 packs of sugar. Requesting sugar would suggest that is what you would add to the latte unfortunately the girl added Splenda or whatever sugar alternative in pink packets you offer. No big deal right??? When I had said I had ordered sugar and not sugar substitute the girl proceeded to use a spoon in an attempt to scoop out what she had added rather than making a new one as requested. I left with a drink that looked and tasted like it was something that came out of Mc Donald's, Dunkin Donuts or Kwik Trip. Next time Le Bistro is closed one might consider the aforementioned unless of course Momma D's is willing to get it right. I am a firm believer in supporting local businesses which is why I am disappointed and sad to say this may be one I am not able...

Excellent coffee shop however I was with my friend on Saturday. She called in a curbside order letting staff know she had already arrived, and asked if they could bring her out an iced latte. After about 20 minutes, my friend had not received her order so called in again, and politely asked if it had been forgotten or was ready to which Carly hung up on her. Carly came out of the coffee shop aggressively, and strongly pushed the latte towards my friend causing the contents to spill on her. Carly proceeded to scream at my friend that she “needed to call when you are here and not expect everyone to just know”. My friend called in because Carly stormed off to let her know that her customer service left little to be desired to which Carly replied that she was “stressed, too busy with other orders” and in a very snotty tone told my friend to “enjoy your latte.” My friend is very passive, but I believe that management needs to know that this type of customer service is not appropriate as we frequently patron here. It left us hesitant to return...

I’ve always loved coming to this place. I come here often and always order the same drink — a large/tall spicy chai latte extra hot. I also make sure to tip generously (20-25%) because I usually request that my drink be stirred after honey is added, given that it’s extra hot. However, today I had an unfortunate experience that makes me question whether I’ll return. I politely asked a barista to stir my drink, but she responded with a dismissive attitude, pointing to the wooden stirrers at the service table. While I understand that they’re available, stirring a large, extra hot drink with those stirrers, or even the provided straws, isn’t practical — the straw melted when I tried. Her attitude was off-putting, and her unprofessional behavior left a bad impression. For reference, the person had a tattoo of “1940” and was wearing an orange shirt. Unfortunately, this encounter has made me reconsider returning. I hope this feedback is helpful to improve future customer experiences.

Love the old building (circa 1965) with mismatched furniture and a cramped dining room. Perfect little neighborhood location. In addition to offering Valentine coffee (roasted in Milwaukee), they have a nice assortment of sandwiches and pastries. There is plenty of parking. The shop sits super close to train tracks, which is cool when a train comes by. There is outdoor seating bordering the park lot, not great but not bad either. If you like to work from coffee shops, bring a full battery or a backup because there aren’t many outlets. BTW, the coffee was excellent and the nice girls behind the counter were all smiles and friendliness.

I just made my first visit and will definitely stop by again. The indoor space is not large, but there are several outdoor tables for when the weather is nice. They have a solid menu, with food options for breakfast and lunch, a huge and delicious-looking bakery selection, and all that you need for beverages and caffeination. I had a muffin, and it was incredible, along with a yummy wrap for lunch and a latte.
