A top favorite of mine downtown Waukesha! I've been here countless times and the staff is always fun, upbeat, & fast. Atmosphere is relaxing & moody - perfect for a wine bar. Plenty of seating. Loads of wine options by the bottle or glass at a good price. Tom makes sure to rotate a wide variety of wines through his "wine tappers" so that keeps me interested as a local. All serious wine drinkers will gasp, but I like to try new wine based off the label art (after selected the genre - calm down lol) so I enjoy the tapper system a lot since I can actually see the label before it's poured. (And, for the record, my system seems to work so HA.) Since you have the option to pour a "taste", half glass, or full glass, it's a nice concept especially if you have friends who are still figuring out what kind of wine they like. If I had to give one constructive criticism it would be that the delicious charcuterie boards don't seem "consistent" portion-wise - like I'm never sure how much of my favorite cheese I'm going to get BUT, ya know, could be "user error" since I'm drinking wine at the same time as these observations lol. (Also we're talkin' about a WI girl wanting a hefty portion of cheese from a snazzy wine bar so I'm not sure that's a fair expectation to begin with.) So far I've been to only one wine tasting there which was a great experience so I'm sure I will again...
Read moreI went with a friend and had an absolutely fabulous time. It was an average Thursday night but there was a good amount of people there. My friend and I found a wonderful little nook and proceeded to get some wine. We chose to go with white glasses but you can sample reds if you wanted to also without getting a new glass. The set up is very user friendly. There are little placards that describe each wine and you can choose either a sample, half glass, or full glass. They also say where they are from and I was able to try a delicious lime wine from Waukesha! The staff was friendly and helpful if you are new to this unique experience. They checked in with us from time to time in case we needed anything. My friend and I did not try the food options but there is always next time. I definitely recommend this place if you are looking for a new wine experience or looking to socialize with a group of wine friends. It will...
Read moreAs someone who just washes dishes in the back, I can still guarantee that whoever is getting served is getting top-notch service. Tom absolutely loves the business, and it is clear through everything, from the great friendly atmosphere to the beautiful charcuterie boards to the quality wine (or, at least, I assume--- I'm not 21 yet). I know it sounds cliche, but I truly mean it when I say that everyone there feels like family. Although it's my job, it feels more like hanging out with friends than going to work. That is something so rare that I don't believe I'll ever be able to forget SCWH. So I hope you take my advice to come and try the place out! Chances are you'll have...
