Mainstream Bar and Grill — Restaurant in Waukesha

Had a super long day and my husband and I decided to order take out for a late dinner. My husband got home opened the food and it was the wrong order- bummer ! He was determined to get us our food so he called explained it to the bar tender who said ok and bring back the food we gave you ( fine but strange I hope they didn’t give that to anyone). My husband asked if were eligible to get anything off our order for this inconvenience and the bar tender said we’ll discuss when you get here.

Long story short he drove back to the restaurant and the bar tender treated him terribly. Said no discount for your order. Mind you this is the second time this has happened to us here and just blew my husband off when he tried to engage about the situation and said he could care less if he loses our business…. They messed up, we drove to their restaurant twice, and this is what they do?

One of the servers overheard and felt terrible and tried to make it right and gave him a 5 dollar giftcard- which we will never use as this was such a horrible experience. Not looking for free handouts by any means but it’s sad to see a local place treat their customers so poorly when they messed up. Will...

Mainstream is an updated establishment (I consider it more of a bar that serves food). We had a group of seven so we had to push two hightop tables together, despite it being a Friday night we did not have to wait for one table but did have a short wait for the second table to open up(outside temp was in the low 20's so it wasn't overly busy, I have heard of waits up to 1 1/2 hours on a busy evening). Service was very good, the food was great, the burgers were massive and excellent, Fish Fry was very good and one guest ordered a flatbread that she enjoyed. I would have given Mainstream 5 stars except parking can be tricky (street or public lots are a short walk), and the fact that the restaurant fills up quickly kept it at 4 stars, also a testament of good food. I would return to try a Burger (Mainstream is known for them and looked delicious). I have been back on more than one occasion, and the burgers are excellent!!! I was completely disappointed with my experience here yesterday 12/7/24. Came here with my husband, parents and mother in law. It was early evening. They were busy but there was a 4 person table available and a bigger table for 6 people. We sat down at the larger table because we had 5 people. A server came over to us and asked “Are you my other half of my 12 person group?” to which we said no. She then tells us “well you can’t sit here because I need this table”. There was NO reserved sign. She said “we don’t have reserved signs” and made us get up. We asked for a different spot and was told there was no other spot.
