I’ve eaten many times at the Maxfield’s on Brown Deer/Port Washington. Always experienced reliably abundant good food, served quickly. The same is true here at the Mayfair area restaurant. This was our first visit to this location. I had the breakfast combo that included eggs, hash browns, bacon AND sausage, plus two crepes ($10.99). I paid extra to have fruit added to the crepes ($1.99). This used to come with a small glass of fresh squeezed orange juice but that has disappeared from the menu. Our other order was the country fried steak breakfast which came with potatoes, two eggs, two fried steaks with gravy and two pancakes. You get your choice of what kind of potatoes and what kind of side dish (could have had toast instead of the pancakes). The coffee was strong (which I like) and our cups were refilled as needed. We also had large glasses of ice water and extra napkins. It was a good, filling breakfast served with skill by a very competent waitress. Wait staff personnel were wearing masks. The restaurant was clean and comfortable. I ordered my eggs scrambled. They tasted like hotel buffet eggs; I suspect they were not fresh eggs but the type that come in a big bag or pitcher. I would order over medium or some other way next time. Also, when we arrived the hostess was talking on her phone. She lifted two fingers at us which we signaled was correct, grabbed two menus and directed us to a table all without ending or interrupting her phone call. Not a great first impression. These are the reasons for a 4 instead of 5 star review. The food was good overall and we would definitely go there again in the future.

We craved a delicious lazy Sunday breakfast and they certainly answered! Before I get to the food bit, the part where Ill give them 5 stars equally was how accommodating they were to our Customized orders and managed to get it all correctly made! We ordered a portion each of Kitchen Sink Omelette (Customized to Corned Beef Hashbrowns and Strawberry Pancakes) and Meat Lovers Omelette (Customized to Corned Beef Hashbrowns and Chocolate Chip Pancakes). From the moment we did the take out and put the food in our car, the aroma of what we were about to dig into just wrapped us up in pure bliss! The omelettes were moist, cheesy delicious and man were they generous with the fillings! It felt like ones you would make at home for your family! But the real star of the show was the Corned Beef Hash. Ive had quite a few Corned Beef Hash in my time and its almost always been, not to get too mathematical here, 70% potato and 30% meat...Here however, it almost felt the other way around!!! And the meat itself was perfectly cooked and balanced with the fat content. Loved it!!! Last but not the least at all, the pancakes were thick, fluffy and perfectly sweet. You could make out they werent some store or factory manufactured ones that were so used to eating at chain restaurants. The food wasn't cheap, $40 for 2 Omelettes but you really do get a lot for your money, both in portion and flavor!! The ladies who helped get our order in place were very professional and amicable so thank yo for that! We'll certainly be making this a frequent haunt of ours!!

Place was nice. Felt sorry for our waitress since we met our stepsister who we had not seen in a while. We were catching up on kids and grandkids while every once in a while looking at the menu. For me, the menu was laid out really well and I found what I wanted right away. I am on WW so "The Skinny" is what I ordered. This may not sound like much, but I assure you it is. I will now make your mouth water: The skinny is an omelet made with broccoli, tomatoes, mushrooms, and little bit of fried onion rolled in 2 eggs. Next came baked potato pieces and 2 slices of bacon. Then your choice of toast or pancakes. Of course I choose toast. My sister's choose eggs over med, and easy. Each getting toast but 1 choose sausage and really liked it. I ended up taking 1/2 of mine home there was so much. We really did have a sweet waitress but I don't remember her name. We stayed there longer than we should have. I can tell you the date and where we sat. It was November 29th around 10 or 10:30 and the door was blocked by a wall to go outside because we would get cold whenever someone came in or left. Management might want to think about bring the wall to the ceiling. That was the only flaw!

The food is 7-10. Some dishes are good, others are very good, and some are very exceptional. If the worst you get is good, have no worries. We live in Oshkosh but made the drive just to eat breakfast here! Service was so exceptional that we left $20 on a $59 bill.

Blintz vs crepes

The crepes are good 7/10, but I would pick the blintz over the crepe every day. Blintz are 9/10.

Sausage links are very large and outstanding quality! You get 4 per order. There is enough to share with another person. But order one for each person, you'll want extra to take home. 9.5/10. The only sausage links I've had in my life that were better are reindeer sausage in Alaska

Hash browns (hollandaise), the star(s) of the show, The hash browns are nearly perfect. Extra crispy, fluffy and light, but slightly dry. I am VERY glad they do not overdo the amount of oil they use. A side of hollandaise is only $2, and is enough for 2 order of hash browns. Without the hollandaise, the hash browns are a solid 8.5 for me. With the hollandaise they are a solid 9.9. I could eat these all day long.

We got here almost right away when they opened. We had always come later. If you go early the place is quiet, you don't have to wait for a table and the food comes so fast you'll think the roadrunner has to be in the kitchen. If you go later in the morning you'll have to contend with the availability of parking, waiting for a table, and the noise. These 'negatives' are all hallmarks of an amazing place. Driving 1h 15m one way just to eat here, is incredibly worth it.

Great thanks to the kitchen and the waitstaff. You guys are amazing. Your efforts make us happy, content, full, and even though we were bursting at the seams, we still want just...

Rude, Unprofessional, poorly trained!!! Attn: Owner I been a customer for the past 8 years. I work across the street. The quality of service has majorly declined over the past year or two. I used to order here almost daily. Now, its very rarely.

  1. My order is only correct when, Tammy, the regular hostess is working.
  2. Other staff does not follow instructions, IF they even submit my order.
  3. EVERY time I call for find out the soup of the day, I am placed on hold for too long (5 minutes average or more). Do they not know how to look at the board in front?! Do you not have an alley rally at the start of every shift?!
  4. Staff does not know the menu. Not reflect good training. I was a server 8 years and we were required and Mandatory to know the menu by hart & definitely the specials of the day.
  5. Staff answering the phone never know how to ring up orders. Come on now, you do this for a living! The person attempting to place my order always asks for help & then from a person who also does not know how to ring up my order. It’s the blind leading the blind in your restaurant! My orders are more simple than simple can be.
  6. Often, I have arrived to pick up my order. I find out it was not even placed and have to wait too long. My lunch time is short. I don’t have time for their nonsense of not following instructions, not placing my order when I call it in. Nothing goes right when Tammy is not taking care of me. When I call, my 1st question is asking if she is working. If not, I hang up. I’m over it the terrible service! You have lost my business to Alioto’s. Today, I called for your name, the male that answered outright refused to tell me. NOT AT ALL...
