I'll go ahead and sum it up for you, but I will write a heavily detailed review below. Do not buy any kind of sandwich or salad. Do not buy a milkshake. Only buy something that they make directly in front of you at the little ice cream counter, or buy something from the marketplace. Your experience with employees is pretty much going to be 50/50. The store is a sanitary disaster.
I used to work here, so I understand any and all opinions will likely be ignored by anybody reading this review, so I'll just tell you a bit about how it runs behind the scenes as a warning. The people do not wash their hands. Almost every piece of meat is going to be cross-contaminated. They use the same spatula for raw beef, cooked beef, raw chicken, cooked chicken, and eggs. There are usually dead flies in the ice cream. The employees are usually too busy to bother scooping them out, and either scoop ice cream around them, or just flat-out scoop them up. I've never seen or heard of an employee scooping a fly into just normal ice cream, but they absolutely 100% will scoop a fly into your milkshake since it gets all Blended up. It is disgustingly dirty in the back, and there's Brian built up from many years. There are roaches, crickets, flies, and maggots at various points in the store. There's usually moldy food either in the marketplace, or in the back with the rest of the food. You don't have anything to worry about when it comes to drinks or deep fried foods. If somebody is making something in the very front, and you can see them making it, you also don't have anything to worry about. Not every employee is like as I mentioned above, is there are some extremely nice, helpful, clean, and professional people who work there. There are also plenty of bad people however, that make the store as I mentioned above. They may not be there anymore, I'm not sure, because I have been trying to avoid the store as much as possible, due to the conditions and the people. Some of the staff is definitely going to be flat-out rude to you. I have seen an employee they're just flat-out cuss at a customer before. What you see in the marketplaces what you are going to get, as if it is out and you can see it, that is either all they have, or they're just going to have the exact same thing you are seeing in front of you in the back. I'm sure there's something else I'm forgetting, but the gist of it is that it is a very dirty, unsanitary place. If you are a germaphobe, stay away. I would not be surprised if you get food poisoning eating here, and I am not saying that to be vindictive. I used to love eating here before I had a work experience here, and now after it's been awhile since I've worked there, I still avoid it. It wasn't clean for years, and they have had problems that have existed since they have been around. If you really want Braum's, go to...
Read moreThis place has really gone downhill. Every time we go there we say never again, but after 6 mos or a year, we think well maybe it has changed and got better so we give them another chance. Nope, it's never better and maybe even worse. Today we stopped in for ice cream after all, that is their specialty, right? So how bad could that experience be.....well 🤔 let me tell you: the help working the ice cream counter are all young teens who don't seem to want to be there and could care less if they get your order right or even try to provide half decent customer service. So my 2 scoop ice cream cone was not even a scoop and a half. My husband asked for a 2 scoop Caramel Sundae with one scoop vanilla ice cream with hot fudge and the other scoop strawberry with marshmallow sauce, do you see any fudge? Guess she forgot it. And it looks like they ran out of whip cream but nope, she just forgot to add the standard amount for a two scoop. What a sad looking cone and sundae! To top off the undesirable prep of our ice cream while we sat in the store and ate it we were forced to listen to the loud obnoxios Manager (I'm guessing her status), with what I believe was a Jamaican accent, in the food prep area, barking orders and berating her staff. I guess since they are all young teens, she evidently feels powerful being able to be disrespectful to such young kids who can't take up for themselves. Instead of telling the young girl cleaning the tables that she was doing it wrong, loudly in front of the 3-4 tables of customers, she could have instead taken her to a table on the other side of the restaurant where no customers were sitting and quietly shown her how she wanted her to clean the tables to her satisfaction. That there showed us exactly why they can't get anyone older than teens to work there. Adults certainly are not going to take that kind of behavior from a boss who can't be respectful to the employees. Next time we want ice cream, we will go to Dairy Queen for a Blizzard or Wendys for a Frosty. 🙄 And if you are the parent or friend of a kid who works at Braums Waxahachie, please tell them to quit and find another job somewhere else where they will be trained properly and treated with respect...
Read moreWas imagining this or is the #1 combo a burger meal? I specifically remember ordering a number one, burger meal with cheese.
It wasn't until i was about 30 minutes away that i opened up my bag to grab my meal that i realized i got a very sloppy chicken Sandwich. Honestly, it looked like a sandwich that was meant for someone else but then They didn't want it. The wrapping was half on and it looked like it had obviously been opened too remove the picked i didn't want. Because i could still smell the pickles. I was absolutely grossed out.
The most expensive fries I have ever had. I wish i would have taken a pictures of it, but i was driving.
I also decided to buy a gallon of sweet tea from the market. "Sweet" was the farthest thing from my mind when I took a mouthful through my straw. It literally had that grimy taste you get when tea has been sitting there all day. It is literally still sitting in my fridge. The tea i poured straight from the urn had a similar taste.
As for service, the cashier was nice enough, she was just not paying attention. Service at this location was definitely faster, but still lacked quality. When the young lady brought my food to me, I asked her for ketchup. She gave me this annoyed look, plopped the ketchup on the counter and allowed me to stick my hands in the container. Do you get where i am going with this?
I attempted to thank her, but she was more interested in the conversation she was having with another employee and did not even acknowledge me.
Again, many employees lacked masks. This leads me to believe you do not have a mask mandate.
At the end of the day, i ended up driving another two hours before i found suitable food. The most expensive fries i have ever had helped, I guess.
THIS store was definitely cleaner than the last, but a bleach towel on counters at both locations would not hurt.
Fingers crossed my next surprise visit to one of your locations...
