Went on Friday around five and found a seat at the bar for my partners and I right away. Chips, salsa, shrimp and chicken fajitas, queso amarillo, Cancun Nachos, and the Mucho Gusto hard shell tacos were all delicious. The real star of the show was the patio bar and the bartenders for us. The space feels so warm and inviting, and I love all of the light coming through the roll up doors. They have a great selection of tequilas and other liquors, and there is a shelf with a few liquors for $2 shots for those looking to get a little toasty. My partners had bottled beer and Tito's and soda, and I ordered a pina colada in remeberance of my grandmother on her birthday, it was her favorite. Let me tell you, this pina colada was seriously one of the best I have ever had. I try them all across the country as I travel for work, even on the beach and places like Margaritaville, but Cancun's is superior in almost every way. The presentation was fantastic, makes you feel like you're somewhere tropical as soon as you take your first sip. It was almost too pretty to drink and by far the best one in Waxahachie. The sweet woman with the long dark hair working with Marco before shift change, (so sorry I didn't catch your name!) was so kind, and when she learned it was for my grandmother, she had a moment with us about it, gave us a cheers, then brought the rest of the leftovers and gave it to our party. She even wished my grandmother a happy birthday as she clocked out, and to me, that was just the cherry on top of a fabulous experience. I can't wait to go back, not only for the delicious food and drinks, but for the outstanding service and care shown by the bartenders. Thank you, Cancun's, for turning a somewhat sad day into a delightful happy experience for me. You went above and beyond, see you soon! Cheers!

The Good: Nice new building, good decor, ample parking, and pleasing landscaping. The hostess and waitstaff were friendly and cordial. The not-so-good: My wife and I ordered what I would consider the easiest dish on the menu....One enchilada, one crispy taco, with rice and beans. After 49 minutes of waiting and three refills of water, we finally received our food. The restaurant was not busy. The dining room only a handful of tables with patrons. There was no explanation from the server for the delay...she just slid the plates in front of us and shuffled away. If it takes 49 minutes to plate and serve the dishes that we received (see photo), I can only imagine what a complicated order would look like. Oh yeah.....and stale chips!

My family visited last week while we were in town and i really enjoyed everything about the place, the food was amazing! we ordered menudo, shrimp fajitas and their Queso Blanco. It was a little chili and they even have small blankets in case you get cold by the bar. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Emilio ( Owner) even checked on us to make sure everything was to our satisfaction. We spend 5 hours there just eating and drinking with our family and the whole time we were attended with no issues and never felt rushed to leave, The staff even gave me some to go chips and salsa for the road. Our time in Texas was short but we definitely will be back again.

Back with an OVERDUE EDIT...

I can certainly say that Cancun's delivers consistency and quality. We have been customers since we arrived to Waxahachie and food does NOT disappoint, service is always TOP NOTCH, and the food is absolutely the BEST!!

Their breakfast Menú is Delicious!! (I will update with pics soon, the ones I have are not in my phone)

The Caldito the Res is FINGER-LICKING!! (Take this from a Mexican, IT TRULY Tastes Delicious, all flavours are well balanced and portions are very well tought!

Just yesterday I tried their Menudo Rojo (I was told that it is a good one too) and no Lie, it is EXQUISITE! I cannot beging to describe the dance of flavours these dish alone has! (Hats off, to the Chef and the Brilliant mind who provided the recipe) Their Caldito de Res and Menudo comes with a side of 4 tortillas (corn or flour) and chopped onions/cilantro/fresh jalapeño pepper slices and lemon slices. All of that plays a great part into enhancing the dish, however if you like to omit any of those, you can, the dish alone taste D E L I C I O U S!!

Pictures and words are Not enough, Until you try it yourself!

I like to mentioned, I LOVE the fact this Restaurant it is very Family Oriented. They have plenty of seating (inside/bar/outside) and the music they play has so far been appropriate, and we appreciate this!

Our MOST favourite Consistent Writer/waitress so far have been, "Pancho", Diana, Perla and Sandy. (THANK YOU for such Outstanding Service guys!)

Last night, we visited Cancun's Restaurant and To say "we were amazed" it is nearly an understatement!

The atmosphere was very welcoming and family oriented (I noticed all music they played was appropriate, so I appreciate this a LOT!)

There was a wait of about 25-30 mins before getting seated... So we waited. Once seated, we were taken care by "Pancho" (Juan) Young Hispanic male, mid 20's to early 30's.

Pancho was absolutely pleasant to be served by, he was very attentive and professional with all customers. After we placed our regular drinks... I order a Paloma. Once our Alcoholic beverages arrived, we asked if the little cantarito my Paloma came into, Pancho asked if we could, however apparently they do not sell them. I told him it could be a good idea to sell them and I hope they consider that. I ordered Cancun shrimp and my husband had Carne Asada Fajitas. Food came in HOT and quite promptly. Portions are fair according to price. Shrimp was very delicious slightly hot due to the jalapeño yet I do recommend trying!!! The rice was absolutely THE BEST Hispanic/Mexican rice it have tried (restaurant wise) the flavor of it felt absolutely authentic and the rice was cooked to perfection! Carne asada was very juicy and delicious (Absolutely GREAT Fajitas!) The tortillas (flour) are DELICIOUS!! (They are made there at the restaurant) so that added a very elevated flavour to the fajitas. The restaurant had Live music playing outside on the patio area, and that seemed very enjoyable.

Definitely, this place is a MUST TRY!!

Also, they do have a breakfast menú, so I will update accordingly, as I try more...

Today I went to Cancun's. I asked if I could substitute regular toast for french toast. The white dress said no. So I ordered difference toast and got a side order of eggs. When she brought my food to the table she did not bring the bacon which comes with the French toast. When I mentioned it to her she said let me go put that order in for you. I told my husband when we get the ticket I want to make sure she did not charge us for a side order of bacon. She brought the ticket to the table and my bill was $29 and some change which was correct. I went to the restroom while my husband went to go pay when I came back he was counting his money he said I don't think she gave me the correct change back. I looked at his change that was not correct. So I went to the register and told them she short changed my husband did not give him enough money back out of $100 bill. She gave me the ticket and it said $33 and some change. I said that this is not what the ticket said that she gave us. The ticket she gave us said $29 and some change. She called the waitress over I said I want to see the ticket that we gave us to pay for the bill. She dug around in her pocket couldn't find it went over to where she had been previously standing could not find it came back and said I'm sorry it's in the trash. I was Furious. I told the lady that the bill she gave us a $29 and some change and now she's charging us $33 and some change for our bill at the register. Had charged us for a side order of bacon. I told her the bacon comes with the French toast. What it all boiled down to was she put the eggs in the place of the bacon can you charge me for a side order of bacon which made my bill more. When they corrected the bill we still owe $31 and some change instead of the 29 that the original ticket said. It seems every time I go to Cancun's in Waxahachie something with each of the food or the bill or takes forever. Today was my last time ever to go to that sorry restaurant. I'm not going to go where they have people trying to rip you off. Sorry Emilio I don't do...

"Welcome Home" has gone out the window. I would give 0 stars if I could. My husband and I have been eating here for years. We enjoyed the food and service at the old location. My husband usually would order the fried catfish and I would usually order Mexican food. Since they have moved into the new beautiful building, it has gone down hill. We have tried it multiple times since they moved and it is never a good experience, either the service was bad or the food was bad or both. Tonight was the worst experience that we have ever had. The only good thing was they told us it would be a 25 minute wait but we were sat in about 5 minutes. The chips and hot sauce came as usual but the chips were hard and stale and the hot sauce was not the same. We both ordered the fried catfish, BIG MISTAKE! Our table was where I could see the kitchen and the "manager" putting food on trays. I saw him put 2 fish plates on a tray and it sat there for over 5 minutes. Our waitress finally came out of the kitchen with our salads and put them on the tray and brought it all at the same time. When my husband said something about wanting to be able to eat our salads first. She took our plates back and the manager set them back on the counter and she waited a few minutes and brought the same plates back to us. My salad was all yellow and both of our dressings were wrong. The fish was warm but everything else was cold. The baked potato wouldn't even melt the butter. The onion rings and hushpuppies tasted like they were made yesterday. As I began to eat my fish, it was not done. One piece was so pink that I couldn't finish my meal. Not like me at all! Our waitress came by and refilled my tea with sweet tea, I had ordered unsweet. My husband asked to talk to the manager and he never came. The waitress said he wasn't coming over, he would just take one of the meals off. We will never go back and I suggest you think twice...
