We like this place, kids friendly, dog friendly, nice atmosphere and decent food. Beer are good too. This time we came back not busy at all maybe 10 people total it was 8pm or so. We were having nice time order some food and beers , kids were playing where we seated but decided to step outside for a little it was around 8:45ish they closed that night at 10 pm my kids loved this place they always want to play outside for a bit. So I told the lady at the bar that I have a small table with couch seating right below the big screen in the game launch room that I have my kids and my stuff/ food there with our waters I asked if it was ok to step outside for a little time since kids wanted to and leave my items on the space we were seating, eating we were not finished with food etc (full bowl of Mac & cheese that my kids ordered and my left over soup)we stepped outside after telling staff at bar she said yes it was fine not to worry about our items and only a couple was there playing before we stepped outside. We literally came back in after 20-30min like I said place was not even full there were a lots of empty spaces where to sit if someone else happened to come in at that time of night. Guess what!!?? We were passing by the bar going back to our little space, staff stopped us and had our tablet, sketch book , phone and napkins piled up together at bar counter said that someone decided to use that specific space where all our food and stuff was 1 person a WOMAN! and no food! They threw our food away! Staff did not care, lied to me about it was ok to leave my items there, not even apologized or nothing…. Is like have a f…..ing nice night! See ya! @ 9:15. I was so disappointed that I am not sure if good atmosphere, beer, or food is enough to come back if you are going to have staff like that. We people that have a family mostly work all week even weekends at times and we try to find a little space to be together has a family I am blessed for places that allows to have kids and dog friendly but also like respect and things like this should not happen to anybody. My money doesn’t grow up on tress that’s for sure and wasting food is not correct specially if you haven’t even finish with it, was not asked hey! can I throw this away for you or can I put it to go NOTHING! Sad but it did...
Read moreOkay, I'm a bit torn, because there were some obviously great things about this place but also a couple of things that really rubbed me the wrong way. I'm going with 5 stars, because the food, beer, and venue were all really solid. If you're going as a beer lover, you'll be pleased. (Unless you put weight on the pour of your beer. If that's the case, see below.) If you're going for a meal, you'll be pleased. And if vibe matters to you or space for your dog, you'll be pleased. 👌 Those are really the things that matter and carry across visits, so 5 stars it is!
But I was really turned off by some of the service and the pours. My husband had a fine time with the beertenders, but I got the same girl both times I went to the bar, and she was so uninterested in working there that I honestly felt crummy ordering from her. She was having conversations with all her coworkers and communicating with me just enough to get the beer I wanted and the tab it was on. She wasn't nice, she was smacking whatever food she was eating in the customer's faces, and hardly even making eye contact. I seriously felt like such an inconvenience, and it heavily influenced my opinion of this place. (I do realize that this is one server of many, hence why I still gave 5 stars.) And pretty much every server behind the bar was pouring really weak pints. Too much foam leaving the beer missing 2-4oz off the top once the foam had dissipated. Every single time. Not really interested in paying $6 for 12oz of beer, you know? And it only takes, like, 3 extra seconds to tip some foam out and top the beer off. Or, even better, pour into 20oz glasses and waste nothing. :)
One huge plus to note: they offer a "4-legged" snack bowl of peas, carrots, and chicken, and my dogs absolutely devoured it. This is such a thoughtful thing to have on the menu, and I really appreciated it... As did my 4-legged tag-a-longs. 👏
So, yeah, some things I didn't like, and if you value that type of stuff as well you may reconsider? But the goods were good, and I'd go back again a time or...
Read moreWalked into this establishment yesterday with my husband and daughter and her husband who frequent this place. They live in Waynesville It seemed like a nice place by the river and friendly enough. There were a few people waiting in line to order food & drink at the counter. We all finally ordered and paid the tab of $86 and left a $15 tip for counter service, my mistake. We went outside to find a table and wait for our food. 1.5 hours go by and finally she comes out with the food. I ordered the mac & cheese with brisket. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw what she brought out. It was literally a child size meal. A bowl about 4" long with about a 1/2 cup of mac & cheese in it with about a tablespoon of meat on top of it. $16 for that! She said it's supposed to come with texas toast but I guess they forgot it! Never came back. My daughter got a completely different meal from what she ordered (didn't want to send it back due to the wait times) my husband and son in law ordered burgers that were burnt to a crisp with fries that were so over cooked they were like rocks they were not edible. All of the food was cold as it must have been sitting for a while before they brought it out. If you don't have enough staff to work your establishment at least let people know before ordering that you will most likely have to wait a long time to get your food. I would have gone somewhere else as we were already starving when we got there about 1:30 pm yesterday. We did complain on the way out and was partially refunded...but never again will I come here! Stay Away. I would give it less than 1...
