Pub 319 — Restaurant in Waynesville

As a restaurant owner myself I don’t normally post reviews but I felt this one needed posting. My wife and I had a very rare few hours alone and decided to try this place. Sign on the door read “limited menu due to short staff”. Again being in the business I get it so we decide to go on in. We walk in to a roughly 2/3-3/4 full room with 1 employee. We sit down at a two top by the window wait maybe 3 minutes she gets drops off menus and gets our drink orders. It was a very limited menu (appetizers & few sandwiches). We decide to just try several different appetizers. I wasn’t really feeling a sandwich. She drops food off at couple tables then brings our drinks and takes our food order. Maybe slightly longer than normal but nothing out of sorts and this young lady is killing it. Besides it gives my wife an I a few minutes to catch up and we don’t get that often. Food comes out fairly quick, presented, and cooked well. I am pretty sure there is only 1 cook in the kitchen also. So mind you there are 2 employees total. We tried our smorgasbord of appetizers LOL and they were all great! I have said all that to say this even under tough circumstances Samantha our server (the only one) and the cook did an outstanding job. They showed up to work put on a happy face and showed out!!! We stopped here to eat lunch. It took a little while to get waited on but it was rather busy so understandable. We ordered our drinks, plus water for everyone. Our waiter brought back our drinks but not water for everyone. We asked what the special was and the waiters response was I actually don't know for sure, I came in a little hungover today and missed them. Since we never got our waters one of our group went to the bar so ask for them. The bartender was crabby but did get them. Two of us got our food and the other two had to wait a bit. We asked for a few things black pepper, and the hot sauce that was ordered to come with food. He brought those back promptly and then one of the girls wanted mayo. She went up to the bar because our waiter was busy to get one. The bartender rolled her eyes and turned around and must have told our waiter to bring it over because he walked right behind her standing at the bar and brought it to our table. Decided to try someplace new came into Pub 319 shortly before 12:00 on a Saturday.Ordered our drinks.5 to 10 minutes later we had to ask someone else if we could to order appetizer of potatoe skins from another person.By this time group of 6 to 8 local sheriff came in. We placed our food order.Still waiting on potatoe skins.after about 30 to 40 minutes waiting was told they were coming right out.Next we see food going out to the table who came in 10 minutes after we sat down and had ordered.Ask waitress on potatoe skins after 45 minutes was told our appetizer was up next.So our order of appetizer and food was pushed back even though we had ordered previously.After being lied to twice.The potatoe skins lacked much potatoe and was dried and chewy.My fish and chips lacked much fish hollow pretty much breading was good.The honey sriracha chicken sandwich was good.First and last time though.Everyone should be treated same.No matter who you work for.Orders should be cooked in order in which they...
